Hard to find a nice EK

Hard to find a nice EK
Anyone else notice this? I've been looking around for a 99-00 Civic hatch, and it's hard as hell to find a nice one. Quick disclaimer: I'm not looking to buy now (after winter) so please don't spam me with ads, I was just looking because I was bored and whatnot.
But anyways, I think 4000$ is a fair price to pay for a stock one with decent KMs (200ish?), "mint" (nothing wrong with it at all, not hacked up etc), cert and etest.
But I honestly can't for the life of me find one. Anything that I do find is either hacked up, pre 99 (which I don't want), or it's extremely overpriced. I can find NICE 2001+ Civics for 4-5.5k all day long (cert and everything) with around 200k on them, so I have no idea why, but it seems impossible to find a clean nice ek hatch, even the crappy ones with no options. And I'm not paying 6k for one.
I thought it might be because they're getting older, so people aren't as likely to "invest" $$ into maintenance/repairs so there are fewer cleaner ones, but honestly 2000 is only a year older so it can't possibly make that much of a difference.
Let's throw some examples out there.

A little high milage, but it's a mint looking coupe for 4500 OBO which I'm sure you can snag for 4Gs or so, and it's certified and everything.

Clean and lowered 4 door again for 4500.
http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...QAdIdZ97481944
A little more $$ but it's very low milage and very clean (look at that interior). With some bargaining can be had for 5200ish I think no problem...
These newer cars also seem much cleaner and better optioned (I think they all have A/C for example, etc). I mean, the 4500$ one is on nice wheels, has a sunroof, etc, and it's clean as hell and cert. So really a hatch on steelies, even if it's clean as hell, should NOT be going for more than 4k when you can buy this car which is nicer, newer, better optioned, for the exact same price. It should be worth like 3000-3500, when comparing it to this car...
I really wanted a hatch (like the body style a lot), but for the prices that people are asking for them I may as well just buy something newer and nicer..
Does anyone else notice the same trend? If you disagree with me I'd love to see some links to some hatches that meet my requirements without being very overpriced.

The price range for these cars is now cheap and therefore kids and ricers can buy them and **** them up. I gave up trying to find a 99-00 sir which is ever harder to find in good condition. If you have the money, leave the price range and buy newer. For me it was nostalgia that was my motive to buy. Not worth the time and effort to find a car of that year in good condition, besides its not worth the hassle of buying such an old car with so much mileage on it anways.

that is true, its hard to find a well maintained civic that has not been hacked jobed. keep looking, also around spring time more should show up since usually winter not too many people sell cars for some reason [other than beaters]

I am not sure how "fair" $4000.00 is for a 99-00 EK hatch. I have sold my 97 hatch back 1 1/2 years ago for $6000.00. It's true, it was in mint condition, it had AC, 17'' wheels, nice body kit, HIDs, but it was 5 speed, had no power windows or locks, and it had 175K on it.
I guess it's not hard to find EKs these days, but if you are looking for mint condition EKs for $4000.00, that'll be a bit more difficult to find.

Ive been keeping my eyes open for a decent EK hatch or sedan for a second car/winter beater. There are a few good ones out there, that have lower k's and appear to maintained properly and priced affordably. But, they are usually sold within a day, so you need to be quick.
I have seen many with high k's and rusted out quarters, but way over priced because of the "JDM" parts on them.

And why does it have a new engine at 140 000 kms? It's not even an upgrade to a B series or anything... big red flag IMO, car was probably raped badly if they managed to blow the engine by 140000km.
What I meant was I didn't want PMs saying "Here is my car buy it now", but I don't mind seeing nice examples of clean EKs for a good price just for reference or whatever. You posted some nice ones, thanks :P

It's a 97 so it's not the one I'm looking for.

In an interesting turn of events, I just picked up a 00 Civic hatch.
188 000 km
5 spd
silver. 2 owners but one only had it for 4 months so it's like 1 :P
DX model
everythign works perfectly on the car, safetied in august doesn't need anything
Not owned by entousaists so not hacked up at all (still original cdplayer in there lol), 100% stock, doesn't burn oil, a/c works great, has a tach..
The bad: little rust bubble on one of the rear quarters
I believe it's the "input shaft bearing" that makes noise in the tranny. he was quoted 400 to fix it I can probably get it done for less, but either way I won't bother for a while.
Picked it up for 2400. What does TCC think?
