hard choice?

so here we go again

I own a 2000 honda civic se. the car has a few mods,

air intake
lower
some body mods (little ones)

Its been 2 1/2 years since i had it , and i havent take care of it , it needs a new paint job (or at least 2 door painted), rims (i only have hub caps), a good cleaning insight , tune up .However it runs pretty decent and its amazing on gas and never had issues with it.I need to invest Around 1500-2000 to look good and run great

It runs ok , not major problems , I ve done around 50 000 in the last 2 years, only had to replace the alternator (my fault), timming belt , muffler and oil. Good on gas and its really a beater

Now , i m debating on whether i should sell it and buy myself a new car (i would have around 5000-6500) or just invest at least 1500 to make it look nice and keep it.

I seen some celicas , preludes of the same year going for 6000...

I have a second car a mazda 3, 2004 which my wife drives it most of the time.

advice anyone??

Not a hard choise, keep it, fix it and save for something more worthwhile then a old celica or prelude.

Keep it. Don't blow a lot of money on cars unless you really have nothing better to do with it. Get a house or something. If you already have a house, buy a second one as an investment property
