Hahahaha!!!

http://www.se-r.net/car_info/dyno/index.html

some fool trying to reason why an se-r is better... hahahha...

i guess tranny has nothing to do with it...

here are some of my fav quotes from the site...

"I think this means that a well built SE-R has nothing to fear unless you spot a front mount intercooler and/or a DRAG windshield border sticker."

"The SE-R has more power under the curve with a broad, tractable power band. The high strung GSR makes it power in a narrow, high power peak which means you will have to beat the hell out of it to make it go. Guess which car will be more fun to drive on the street!"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^hahahaha not the se-r...

you do know that se-r make a lot more torque than civics rite?...torque is what makes street driving fun, while with civic motors you have to rev high to make it really pull....if you compare a stock gsr to a stock se-r dyno chart, you'll see that se-r torque really kicks in at lower rpm and that's what is expected on the streets, not revving at 8k...hence i would personally say se-r is a more fun street vehicle compared to civics/integras..especiall the V spec

us honda drivers have to attract soooo much attention if we want any go at all.

screaming at 8k down a street to really kick it always gathers unwanted attention.

SE-R's are so much more fun to drive, compared to civics the torque is lovely...even if this guy is an a55hat, he has a valid point

I would buy a SE-R spec-V in a hearbeat if it didnt look so ugly.. i used to work at nissans and the SE-R is really quick and takes off so much quicker due to the torque, its so much more fun to drive compared to a civic... the shifter is ugly tho... LOL

I used to, and still have, a 1994 chev cavalier V6 5 spd.

It was great off the line cause it made 160ft-lbs of torque at the wheels (had it dyno'd) from below 2000rpm up to 4500rpm.

But after that it fell flat on it's face BIG TIME....over and over again, my buddies 170whp matrix XRS (celica GT-S motor) spanked my cavalier badly because the cavy had absolutly no top end hp.

My New SiR, however, sticks with his XRS (and even beat it in the 1/4 mile) no problem.

My SiR even beat an SE-R in the 1/4 mile, because it has no top end. (not to mention it's heavier than a civic)

Sure it's nice to be able to accelerate from a dig without revving the engines nuts off, but in terms of going fast, it's better to have more top end hp than low end torque.....

Learned from experience...

I have an LS in my 4th gen and even tho the torque isnt insane, its pretty good, and yah most ppl i race i take em off the line, but as soon as third hits i got nuthin. So torque and top end power both have its advantages

I've heard from Nissan techs (mostly dawson and turbo4u) that thier engines are crap (interms of reliabily).....

sentra IMO has never been a great looking car either....mediocre at best..

thanks thats true engines are crap because:

1. the secondary butterfly screws in the intake manifold

2.the cats gets broken up and pieces sucked into the engine

the shifter has a kinda nasty feeling to it

and it had a solid rear axle

but all and all a spec-v is all around decent car working for nissan id get one just cause i could do all the work my self and know what im getting into lol

LOL this thread if funny, mike tries to make fun of the se-r but in fact, all post after by people are for the se-r...

i have to agree with whoever wrote about the se-r, they have more torque, which will allow acclerate faster, hp just keeps ya going, which most hondas lack both :P

i think honda engines reliability comes from the car lacking torque.. less stress on the motor and various other parts therefore will last longer.. thats what i think anyway..

MIKE: i wouldnt make fun of the SE-R if i had to do a swap to make my car faster... heh,
