Unhappy guys i need some help, bad repair from garage :(

I need some help here, just moved here from montreal few months ago.

a friend of mine was following me for lunch and probably wasn't paying attention or slow reflex and ram me from behind.

It's not my fault and i donno which garage to go to, i didn't want to go back to Honda cause i got custom cat-back system and muffler. So i went to this place called AUTOWORKS in Glen Cameron Road Thornhill.

it took them 2 weeks to so called fixed it but won't let me take my car cause they said my insurance didn't give them the cheque yet.

so now it's been a month and today i finally could pick it up

my damages are front bumper, hood, rear bumper, muffler pipe is bend so it'a now like 1.5 inches from the ground.

when i looked at it today they didn't fix ****, my pipe is still that much away from touching the ground. and the rear bumper didn't fit properly. The misallignment was standing out so much.

They told me they have to get aftermarket bumper and that the insurance company paid them that much to do it. and also they brought my car back in for fixed the piping in 10 minutes. they said it was the hanger. so my pipe is up again but when i look from behind the muffler is so misaligned.

they told me they can't fix it and that it's the rubbers that holds up the pipe that was out of shape.

also when i got my car back my cd player had another cd in it, which means they messed with it, and the stuff in my trunk has been moved to passenger seat.

the other problems is that they removed my battery and put it back in they said but i donno wtf for. i even have to enter my security code for the deplayer to get it working again.
and my trunk wouldn't close unless i slam it a few times and with force. I got aluminum T wing on the back and before the accident i dont need force, cause the wing's weight will close it.
my muffler also seems louder then usual maybe there is a hole or the muffler is damaged?

I would like to know what i could do now and where I can bring my car to check what else they fixed or haven't fixed. the insurance company gave them $6000 to fix it.

I live in markham if anyone could help please email me or something. I think i need a trusted garage to check my car then i will take that list back to this garage and tell them to fix it? if they don't i go to small claims court. or anyone else have other ideas

shouldnt you have gotten an receipt from autoworks for what they replaced?

they should have gave you a receipt that would say like OEM BUMPER or whatever and how much it was,

insurance giving $6000 i would expect everything to be original

yea i got a estimate from the insurance company

front bumper $192

cover front bumper $214

rear bumper $133

cover, rear bumper $321

labour $2796

parts total $1914

i have no idea what to do, they keep saying bs like u got 3 yrs warrenty and **** but what i'm telling them now they said they can't fix??? wtf the pipe is bend thats y it is not aligned they just said it's the rubber hindges holding it up that is bad

and i told them to replace that then, they said thats stock part from honda and they don't got it.

which is why i think i need to bring it to another garage and check my car to see if they stole anything or anything else they didn't fix.

cause if they r only fixing bumper and muffler y did they remove my battery?

i already disabled my alarm.

even if they said they'll fix it i'm afraid to bring my car back cause man those guys are not professional
sloppy job let everyone know not to go there

even in highschool i took a auto mech class, we r not suppost to touch the customers things like cd player and ****.

when i got my car my cd player has the dangerous minds sound track in it. I am possitive i don't listen to that cd anymore

I mean "dangerous minds sound track that is like 5 years or more yrs old"

they had that in, instead of my initial D disc

and my airfreshener is broken and lost somewhere under my seat.

i was lucky they didn't take my change from the change storage or the GTR emblem that i got in my car.

my cd player has this security that if someone removed it and put it in another car or just disconnect it, u need a activation code to make it work. maybe they were trying to replace my cd player or steal it?

Have you talked to your insurance company yet about the shoddy job done to your car?

If all else fails, I guess you could try Silverman Helps

If this body shop is "suggested" by your insurance company then you have to be satidfied with the work done to your car. Did you choose this bodyshop or did you insurance company tell you to take it there?

I took my car to my friends shop (not "suggested" by the insurance company) they told me that if i wanted to deal outside of the body shop that they "suggest" that there would be no guarentee on any work done.

I guess if i would have had the work done where they suggested - if i was displeased with it then i could have had it made right.

Did that make sense?

Thanks

-Joe

Silverman Helps ? whos silverman?

yea man bad luck for me, when i brought my car to the collision report centre the tow truck driver waited for me for 5 hours

thats y i was being a nice person and letting him tow my car and plus he suggested this garage saying he works for them for many years and they do quality work.

now he screwed me, everyone ******* screwed me

not suggested garage by insurance company.

the tow guy keep saying if u bring your car to the suggested garage they work for the insurance company and order aftermarket parts and all these bs.

and now i get a even worst service, next time i don't give a ****, i either bring it to a suggested one or bring it back to honda cause it wasn't my ******* fault, it was my stupid *** friend with his so called leet driving skills that hit me from behind.

now it gives me shitload of problems.

the stupid garage said they fixed up the pipe for me already and made the rear bumper fit better.
but this is visual. The muffler sound a lot louder even for a performance muffler. and the seems to be power loss as if it was damaged or somewhere in the pipe has leak.

cause i had another stock car that has a hole in the muffler before, it sound very loud but like no torque

go to the shop and tell them you are unsatisfied and want it fixed. If they give you ANY grief and tell you that's how it's supposed to be, go to our (TCC) affiliate - check with BOND007 to find out who our body work affiliate is. Get them to write you a quote for the PROPER repair with OEM parts. Then take that estimate to your insurance adjuster and ask him to look at your car, along with your new quote. They'll either pressure the original shop to fix it for them for free, or they'll pay the other shop to fix it, and then sue the original shop for the money.

the insurance company will pay other shop to fix up the job?

and who sues them? I or the insurance company

cause i called them and they said i have to solve it becasue it's not suggested shop. But the insurance told me to go back to the shop and tell them to fix the muffler, if they can't they have to call the apraiser and order a new one to replace

but also the insurance company told me that they were suppost to do all the checking of the muffler as well.

all they said was we were not specialized on mufflers, then they didn't even fix the pipe, my pipe was like 1.5 inch off the ground and thats normal??? any normal person could tell the pipe has problem.

yea it's gay, at first they said i can go find my own kits and ****
saying that i get like $900for front and back then $300 each for lights

cause they said the insurance company has to pay for oem parts
then they told me that the insurance company only allow

$750 to replace front + rear bumper, the front headlights

now they said oh u mean bumper cover, i was talking about the bumper metal frame not the cover

i should of went back to honda or found this place earlier

before this accident i got ripped off got my muffler at saber performance and i didn't know a garage so they point me to ALEX performance exhaust -114 sinnott road #15 , they said it's 14 years experience

charged me $900 to do cat back custom piping

after a month of install i got this rattling noise. He didn't make custom bolting and all he did was slip one pipe over another which created the double piping

and my T-wing i got from Autobas performance 3380 midland ave
$400 the wing was silver i wanted it black so they charged $60 but the paint keep stripping so now i bought a can of black paint and have to touch up every once in a while

when they installed it it was a buncha chinese kids, i thought there was some other pro, or a real mech. but it was a buncha kids who donno wtf they were doing.

drilling holes with a drill is suppost to be a way, but they used this pick and a hammer to hammer a hole in my trunk, so it seems there r dents in it. They told me it was the weight of the wing.

it's like everything i did to my car i got ripped off and got a **** deal. I either fully rebuild my car or i might just wait for a new car and put stuff in the new one

I just coughed a mouthfull of coffee all over my monitor when I read that... Man I feel so sorry for you, noone should be taken advatage of like that... a custom catback should be 300$ tops! My buddy git ripped off too 500$ for custom cat back, but it was dule exhaust and they did have problems with the swaybar clearance so it took them like 3 extra hours, which was tur cuz we kept poping by the shop througout the day monitoring their work, and he showed us the problems ect...

but 900$ is discusting, that much money they should of done your whole familys fleet of cars... I hope that price included the muffler and a highflow cat, even headders for that price!!!

Man if I were you I would sell your car and start fresh... that car is cursed... and 400$ for a wing is a ripp off to, and using a punch for the holes is the most stupid thing ive ever heard of... like thats not even using common sense!! why would anyone use a punch!! thats just stupid!!

man im sorry to hear about your misfourtunes... hpefully the accident repairs will turn out your way...

good luck

cause I just moved here from Montreal not long ago, i know some guys in montreal but I donno my place around in Toronto

And i never thought there would be helpful groups like this in toronto

haha guess i was lucky not to put new rims and full body kit on my car, or else i donno what could of happen

heh

in toronto here, who's insurance company pays for the damage?

in my case, my friend hit me from behind, which is all his fault, does his insurance company pays for everything?

my insurance company told me that it don't matter, my own insurance pays for everything but it's just that if it wasn't my fault then i just don't have to pay deductible and higher premium.

just want to double check cause someone told me the opposite. they told me the person who is in fault pays for all.

no, the insurance company that has underwritten the car is the one that pays for repairs to that car regardless of who's fault it is. If it's his fault, his insurance pays YOUR deductable, but your ins covers the rest of the damage.
