have you thought about building a d-series and boosting that? it would be more reliable than a stock gsr boosted. also if you were to do d-series build with vitara setup you could fit in 5k budget. that would also bring you over 200whp mark easy. in the end it all comes down to the correct parts and how much money you have.

Ive driven nothing but Hondas and I no how slow a D17 is, even with bolt on's its still a joke. A turbo d17 would be better then a GSR swap. But like you said your engine is already high mileage??
Sorry but I think modding a D17 is about as fun as modding a Vtec-E engine. lol.

A gsr swap and a turbo are about the same price to do (roughly) , which one would you do first ??

I know that i will gain more horse power with a turbo and my d16y7 however a GSR engine will be more reliable in the longer run.

DISCUSS....
My fcking bad?? reading owns me after working a 16 hour shift then ripping to many bowls.lol.
Definetly rebuild your Y7 (I thought I read D17) with a turbo rebuild kit. Y7 with Vitaras you can make insane boost numbers. 400+whp. For around the same price as a GSR swap you can have something that blows the ballz off of that.
Unless your one of those guys that has to have Vtak.lol.

LOL... yea my engine is the y7 for the 2000 civic , if i rebuild it then it will save the hassle of swaping

On a different note i just came back from the exhaust place, full caback stainless steel with resonator and magnaflow muffler 550$ and it sounds good , not too loud but deep ..

- 4 wheel disc w/ brake booster is nice (think safety)

- The great thing about a turbo on a D-series is that the motors are a quite cheap....rebuilding another D on the side is fairly cheap (for back-up)

- Converting to B-series motor mounts (B16, B18c+, B20) ...then considering turbo...

Go to fjdistributors.com they will have everything you need for a decent price and for parts that work. Like I said earlier you can make 400+hp with the Vitara piston and Eagle rod combo.
A guy just made 500whp on a stock block with only ARP rod bolts on OCO.
For the cost of a B you can have a turbo D that would rape 90% of the cars out there if its built right.
