Got a 2 questions
Whenever i fill up my car with fresh gas, ever so often if i don't tighten the gas cover enough, my car won't start for a bit when i try to turn it over after i drive it and leave it for a bit. Its happend twice, but i just have to let the fuel run a bit then it starts up just fine. Could it be an ECU prob? I'm not running a tuned computer on it right now which i should get on that soon. Someone said its just flooded?
Anyways not a big concern just wondering. Got another buddy who has DSM. He says he can't start his car alot in neutral and for some reason only in 1st or second.. Any ideas? |
i think its the ecu kevin go to paul make him tune it.

the filler cap needs to be sealed in order for the fuel pump to build sufficent pressure to start the car . With the cap loose it may take a moment to prime before it has created enough of a vacum/pressure to produce proper combustion and start the motor

get a new cap?
i find its kinda loose maybe Corey you working today? |
yea

Balls, my brother's lost the gas cap on our 95 Camaro, and drove without one for a couple days till he got a new one and it didnt cause any problems.
And to whoever said flooded. I didnt even know you could flood a FI engine.. I have a carburated car, and I've never had to pump the pedal more than twice (although it's not a Honda). And to your friend, it shouldnt matter what gear you start it in. |

what could be wrong with my buddy's dsm?

If the gas cap isn't tight enough on my car I get a "check fuel cap" on the monitor. As mentioned above, the cap should be suffeciently tight in order for the fuel system to function correctly. A new OEM cap can't be more then a few bucks.

ya probably try that first

^^ you can flood the motor w/o even disconnecting anything or taking away spark..
|
but it makes it easier :P
