Education is what we need and those who choose to do so otherwise will be at the hands of natural selection. And that goes for other things in life as well.

My crx + civic speedo tops out at 200 kph, whereas a Porsche tops out at what 320 kph ?
there's a reason for that...

Doing 140 in a civic is like doing 280 in a porsche
Period.
I guessed you missed the article in the Sun on Monday, 39 year old Porche driver was killed while racing his cousin in a BMW.

IMHO it really has nothing to do with tuners, or Civics, etc. Whatever is "popular", a little different, and "highly visible" is always going to be the target. In the late 60's, early 70's when muscle cars were the big deal, those guys with Super Bees, AMX, Mach 1's, Cuda's, etc with the candy apple paint jobs, hooker headers, holley carbs, thrush mufflers, and crain cams were the target of the day. If young folks love it, its just got to be the target.

Trust me ... when you're 60 years old, driving your turbo tuner, nobody will give a damn.

Cheers

i believe the author was refering to the fact that regardless of what vehicle you drive, in the hands of an irresponsible driver anything can kill.

Yeah i've seen stupid teens speeding and driving like idiots in their "souped up" civics/tegs/any compact car but i've also seen the same amount of stupid teens speeding and driving like idiots in their parents high end sports coupes/suvs/sedans/etc.

The old cars from the 50's-60's were built like tanks ! All steel body. They didnt crumple like todays lightened vehicles.
Thats why alotta ppl die, regardless of safety features !!!

Its true, it all depends on the driver but when its a tuner car that's involved in an accident, the cops/media automatically assume its "street racing".

Just to get off topic a little bit.....

I had a 98 Gixxer 600 about 4 years ago and I was insured with Riders Plus (brokerage company), now i was thinking about getting another bike cause I wanted out of this whole turner scene.....Now this insurance company DOESN'T insure any ""Sport Bikes"". Probably because of thefts, accidents and deaths due to motorcylce street racing.

And pretty soon Auto Insurance companies will do the same. Why, cause they can.

TAKE IT TO THE F'N TRACK!!!! AND IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO THINK OF YOUR OWN SAFTEY, THINK ABOUT OTHER PEOPLES SAFTEY, BEFORE HITTING THAT REV LIMITER!?!?!?

QUESTION FOR YOU ""STREET RACERS""....WHAT IF THAT WAS YOUR PARENTS IN THAT ACCIDENT IN RICHMOND HILL?!?!?!

F'N IDOITS!?!?

Thats kinda a bold statment don't u think? if u are calling every one driving a civic a murder? if u are going to band a civic why stop ther..? why not band every sport compact car... or why not take a noter step and band all cars.. and every one can drive around in smart cars? it does not matter what u band there will always be a car soem one will be moding to get a littal bit more out off... its not only civic's that kill ppl every year ther are other car's as well.... we just don't hear about it as we would a civic, like the day the srt4 came out till today has killed more ppl in a short time then any car........ what im trying to say, its been said over and over agen its the ppl driving the car's not the car's them selves killing ppl. its a sad fact but its still happening not only in the sport compact side but even on the big boy's sides like the musal cars......

i beg to differ. if you are going 140 in a porsche and crash EXACTLY the same as you do in a civic. you're gonna get ****ed up. you can almost guarantee it.
safety might be a little greater in a porsche, ie rollbar etc.
but you're still gonna get ****ed up.

There is no track In the GTA ! Thats why street racers use the public roads !

Is the gov't that stupid or what .

Give them a track to race, and you wont see as much streetracing going on.

If the city did decide to build a race track in the GTA, where do you think they would put it!?!? beside Eaton Centre? hmmm NO, they put North or Northwest or Northeast about 1hr away.... there isn't any room in this city to build on 5 to 10 acres of land for street racing!?!?

That's why we have Cayuga & Shannonville?!! If you live in the GTA, take the 45mins to hour drive, east or west, you have two choices, Cayuga or Shannonville.....and i know there are more 1/4 mile tracks, I just don't know where they are.

F.Y.I. Friday's at Cayuga is test and tune day, $20 for all the runs you want.... I believe it starts at 7 or 8pm....

KEEP IF OFF THE STREETS AND TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!?!? WITH THESE NEW LAWS THEY PASSED WITH IN A DAY, PRETTY SOON, PEOPLE WILL GET PULLED OVER AND TOWED FOR JUST HAVING RIMS ON THEIR CAR!?!?!? hahaha...

I don't think the lack of tracks is the problem...

people will do stupid things all the time, unfortunatly I can't think of a solution that would help everybody...

Doesn't even matter if they build a track, the cops will just be waiting to hound every car that drives out of there anyways...Darknights anyone?
