hey for the DIY oil change guys here, where is the best place to get engine oil from(cheapest/good deals)

around in mississauga.

ive been buying it from crappytire. wanted to buy the mobil1 but its 40 bux. so im wondering if there is a better place to shop.

sometimes they have sales but even then u only end up saving 2-3 bux.

The cheapest place I've seen Mobil 1 is in Walmart in the USA.
The price on a 4L jug was $23US for regular & $26 for the extended.

part source has sales, once got 4.4l plus farm filter for 8 bucks.

Part Source has Mobil 1 Synthetic on right now for $30 and you get 4.4L + a free 1L jug.

walmart had a 5 X 941ml case of Valvoline 5W30 for $6 a month ago.

I stocked up and bought 2 cases.

Cant go wrong for $12 for ~10l of oil.

i got my castrol gt 4L for 14$ with a free air filter (22$) last month

I only posted the pricing because Mobil1 pricing came up in the thread, and I wanted folks to know that, with the right connections, Amsoil can be purchased at very competitive prices, or lower.

Amsoil is "generally" regarded as one of the top performing synthetic motor oils. It was the first company in the world to bring a 100% synthetic motor oil to the market that was API rated. The product also came with a 25,000 mile service life warranty. This was 1972. In 1974, Shell followed Amsoil into the market with Mobil1, which came with no guarantees.

Do I think it's any good? I'm a Dealer. My answer obviously is "it's the best oil on the market, and outperforms everything else". This is what I beleive, and is borne out by customer experience of the last 34 years, and confirmed by industry standard lab testing.

That being said, everyone has their preference. some like Mobil1, Motul, Castrol Syntec, ELF, Ipone, Red Line, Rotella, etc. Some just buy whatever they can find at Wally World for $1.29 a quart.

Do some research, and draw your own conclusions.
