Good buy to a great car...

So the 86 volvo I've been working on for the past couple months is now good enough to put on the road, which I just did today. And my 00 SiR is now parked in the backyard where the volvo once sat.

Sadly, the civic must be sold. Thinking about the future, family and housing.....sacrifices must be made. By selling the civic and driving the volvo, it's going to save us (my wife and I) a lot of money to put towards other important things.

I love the volvo, but I will really miss the civic, especially VTEC...lol.

Though I won't own a civic anymore, once my wife's garbage kia spectra is paid off in a year or so, we'll probably get her into, if not a civic, a honda product of some sort.

Just thought I'd share.

^^^ yup

That and I am sure he won't find nearly as many aftermarket parts to "Upgrade" and waste money on haha.

Goodluck with the sale!

I got the volvo for free, cost me about $300 to fix and put it on the road.

The SiR is costing me quite a bit on insurance and I still have a year and a half to finish payments on it.

I'll be saving over $150 per month on insurance alone by driving the volvo and once the civic is sold, there will be no more payments to make on it.

In total I'll be saving over $400 per month.

You'd be surprised at the amount of aftermarket support for the volvo...

I actually didn't do much to the civic. Had big plans for it, but the funds just wouldn't allow it.

mike...with that much in saving per month, its well worth it since you and the family have plans to utilize the funds for other things. go for it.....you will for sure miss VTEC though..haha

great decision on your part. Those volvos are built like bricks and its not uncommon to see 400-500k on those motors.

can't you just give up the spectra? you're planning on buying a honda in the future anyway... just a thought.
