Giving out address

So I listed some rims on CL and Kijiji, some guy offered to buy them and said he was really interested. And then he said he wants to send me a cheque through the mail and he would get some one to pick up the rims.. so he would need my full name n address. So i gave it to him. .. and now im a bit :S .. .cause im beginin to think maybe its some scam and i just got played????? whattt should i do now?

Keep your car in your garage or make sure you have a big guard dog and/or wheel locks, I ensure all 3 at the same time. Then again, I always tell people I'll meet them somewhere.

are the rims on your daily driver?

- you gave him your address
- you have no info on him
- he wants to pay by cheque and get someone else to pick them up

Smells like a scam to me.

It might not be a scam. He obviously needed your name and addy so he can send the cheque to your front door. He might live somewhere far so a friend is gonna pick it up. He already knows what the condition of the wheels from the pics you posted, so he doesn't have to see them personally. But do wait for the cheque to clear before releasing them to his friend.

You would think if all they want was the money, they would look for a more expensive item to scam instead of a set of rims. They just want that money (the difference) you're sending them back. They don't give a **** about the item at all.

I can see it with a car selling for 10gs. So they send 12gs. Car being more expensive to ship. So they scamed 2 gs. But with the set of rims we'll say you're selling for 1g. They're not gonna send you 3gs for it. Doesn't make sense. They're not out to make $500 scams. They want thousands.
