first year depreaceation on any car is killer, N/A cars are the worst though. As soon as you pull off the lot you just lost 5 grand. Which sucks for my nonno, lol, hes got an 03 Impala LS that he bought new in July 03, right now it still doesn't even have 13 000 kms

are you sure? the cooper S is supercharged 200 plus hp, where as the 07 si is N/a and less than 200hp. and weighs more too.

nice you got the ish straightened out, -100 for the insurance cleark who handled your claim during the accident.

They do feel pretty quick though simply becuase they are so small and nimble. Speed is probably last on our list of things we wanted in a new car.

I dunno about the euro ones, but you can get upgrade kits from Mini that up it to 190 something hp and around 200lbs of torque. Its a new intake, exhaust and ECU. They also sell suspension, interior and aero parts. Its very pricey though. A loaded Mini S with the JCW kits is almost 40 g's.

My insurance company also informed me that the wife has been driving around since Oct 06 with the car being "branded". I don't understand why no one (MTO, Honda or my insurance broker) never found out about the mistake.

oic, damm.

i hear you on the expensive note, mini's are still so expensive, even used, i saw one at hwy 7 and weston auto plaza, next to the porsche showroom, a sonic blue mini cooper s with the two rally fog lights, really nice 18inch black rims and black viper style stripes, looked so bad ***, it made the regular coopers S look like a base model, i wanted to get it, till i talked to sales person, $38,000, yea right, i could get a M3 or the last model M5 for cheaper.lol

but yea its for your wife so no biggie, its a nice car, i think its one of the best compact cars, spacious for its size, nice interior, quick, and saw videos on its developement days, its review was that its one of the best if not best fwd cars for snow.

good luck on the purchase.

Thats the 05 JCW version. It does differ slightly from year to year. There is another one coming out this year that has adjustable boost for upwards of 220hp.

Part of the reason why Mini feels fast is because the HP and TQ rating is to the wheel, not BHP, so I was told.

My wife's girlfriend has a JCW, I am trying to get her car on the track and battle it out :P

The Mini clubman is new for 08. It is about 9" longer and it has a small door on the pass side and those 2 read doors instead of a hatch.

The John Cooper Works Mini's have several upgrades available in packages. Engine, suspension, interior and exterior. The packages can be purchased separately or as a whole.

The wife. I wish I still had my old 98 Si. My 07 is still pretty nice and I'll be happy with it for a few years.

I had a similar incident happen with one of my customers that bought a new accord from me, they were trading in their 2003 Malibu and the carproof claim showed a 11G hit. The customer was not impressed and she actually did her hw and got them to investigate all that stuff, it turned out to be 5G hit instead and we were able to give her more on her trade... I think it was an insurance thing for sure where they tried to swindle some more money...

On a side note, I like the Clubman as well, but Shazza hates the way it looks I like the fact it has that extra door, and that once the rear seats fold down it's completely flush and flat to the trunk.. I'm sure it'll drive very similar to the regular 2 door Cooper and Cooper S
