Is this normal because i see people get like 400-500 and some 600km per tank. How come i get so less and some other people get even less. Is that because my si engine? Some people have sir engine and they say they can get like 550-600km per tank? How is that possible? Is that because my eg hatch has a much smaller gas tank than the rest of the civics? I think i put in like 30L or just over 30L each time.

The way you drive also has a large influence on your fuel consumption. No need to slam on the gas all the time! Accelerate and brake gradually and watch your fuel consumption go way down.

this is an old post... i don't want to start a new thread, but here's my question...
i've seen some people with 92-95 civics getting about 400-500 kms a full tank...
i've heard an EG full tank is 45L lately because i never drove it to the bottom, so i thought its only 38L... well... i've been getting 450km max....
i've a STOCK d16z6 with CAI, and maybe just a 2" all the way back exhaust with a stock header... what is my mileage suppose to be on a stock d16z6 with no real mods? i see you guys getting 400-500kms, but i guess you have swapped motor...... i shift at 2800-3000rpm....
crxfu said i should be getting 600-700km out of it.... i'm not even close to 500... he recommend me to check the timing on my engine....
am i really getting horrible mileage? if yes, what are your suggestions? like what should i look for other than engine timing... i know i should get a new CAI filter... but what else?

with my 1.6EL and the D16Y8 i just did 460km on 35L of gas for 7.6L per 100km (80% highway 120-130km/h) so 700, don't think so. however figure 7.6L per 100km and the 45L tank that would theorhetically be just shy of 600km full to bone dry based on 7.6L/100lm.
that was shifting at no more then 3000 (2500 when possible) and no downshifting when stopping (4th to 3rd max)
with shifting low and the civic that is lighter i'd guess you'd be able to pull off 7.2L/100km so theorhetically you'd pull off 630km full to bone dry. if your not getting good milage, tune-up may work wonders. obviously the intake and exhaust will take some away, but bot even close to 500, damn thats low. would think you should get atleat 500-550 even with I/E
