E-test help

Hey guys, just lookin for a bit of advice, i recently bought a 99 civic with the original b16a motor, has Greddy turbo kit big injectors and has been converted from obd2 to obd1, simply because the obd2 is not tuneable, i went for e-test they couldnt read anything with this new way they plug in!! Now before u guys say apply for hot rod status i cant because hotrod status as defined by our lovely government is a car having a motor that was not available in that car for that model/year! Soooo my only other option is to hook up stock ECU which i have, unhook the intake so the motor does not get boosted with stock ecu, drive it around for a day or two so the ecu can establish emmision info needed to be "ready" then go in for e test and they plug in and everything is fine!! My question is WILL THIS WORK?? If not what else can i do?? Thank u guys in advance for your help!
