engine swaps & insurance

well, i need some advice, i was seriously looking into getting an engine swap for my car but i dont want to get screwed over by my insurance by "voiding the contract" or risk getting rejected from my insurance company if i get it apprised. could i possibly claim to the insurance company that i bought the car 2nd hand and that the engine was already in there?

I'd suggest speaking to your insurance company anonymously first and see what they say...

call from a pay phone and refuse to give your name

also speak to a claims agent not a sales guy ... this is because the sales guys will say anything to make the sale.... the claims guys will be a little more honest. then get them to send the answer to you in writing. give them a friends address and remember no names....

then follow the rules they send you....

actually READ your policy before you sign it or make any changes. How many ppl don't actually read what they are signing boggles the mind. I learned my lesson when signing for my house, I agreed with the bank on a flex rate open mortgage, and in the paperwork they drafted up fixed rate set term

if you have a verbal agreement and then they send you something different on paper and in fact trick you into signing it...you can void the contract because in reality there never was one. They lied.
