Engine Swap Prices...

Hey guys, I'm currently saving up for an engine to swap into my civic....i also want to do an auto-manual conversion on the tranny.

It's a B18C5 engine with full engine block, tranny harness and everything, just need to buy some pedals but i was just wondering if anyone has ever done the swaps themselves and if anyone could and would be willing to help me with it.

I know it's a long/difficult job (esp the tranny conversion) so I'm definitely willing to pay....I just wanted to see if anyone here is willing to help and what they'd charge

I've been quoted for $1000 for the whole job from a friend of a friend of mine....

anybody willing to go lower? =)

Thanks in advance

I'll make it an even hundred, get you that teen burger, and throw in a 24 of any beer of your choice if you're actually willing to do it

1000 dollars is usually the shop price, because they have overhead and whatnot. For private home garage job, 500 and upwards are decent.

Good luck.

In all honest man save yourself the huge headache and take it to a reputable shop. Don't go looking for the cheapest deal, you'll end up paying more in the long run. Believe me! I've been there and done that, and don't think it won't happen to you. Especially with that auto to manual tranny swap, you better do you research because there are so many little cosmetic things that are going to end up costing more money then you think. It's not just about getting the pedals, shifter, etc. Think it over

Dan, yes my car is mint =)

and Moe, yeah i've done my research and know it's way out of my league (I've done all my mod myself so far) which is why i was looking around for anyone willing to help do it. The mechanic who's willing to do it right now is a friend of a friend of mine and has done swaps like these before.

Just wanted to ask around for prices and stuff before i fully commited to him.....I don't like commitment =P
