Emissions testing...

Hi,

Im posting for a friend, who drives a 94 Benz E500

he has failed and was wondering what he should be doing in terms of passing.

these are the results he got:

when i got mine done i failed the CO% and they said my timing belt was off a bit and thats wat caused it to fail .. dont kno if their right or anythign as i dont kno

The drive clean site has reccomendations based on which test(s) you fail.

Do some reading.

Yeah I agree replace the cat. Its happened to my car too.. or the O2 sensor is not working well..

i'd say replace both cat converter and O2 sensor

failed on co%
pretty much is the o2 sensor or the cat, but replace both while you're at it... i had similar results in my old EG hatch

btw, if you fail an emission test, the drive clean place often tell you the suggestion what needs to be done

must get a diagnosis to find out whats wrong exactly.

when my moms mazda failed emissions i went to the mazda dealership and asked one of the tech's if he had any suggestions, he told me try replacing the cat, i did and it passed

i think they are allowed to kinda point u in the right direction as to what needs to be done.

no you gotta pay for diag. cause if it fails it can be included into your $450 conditional pass.

the emission techs arent supossed to. but on your behalf you benefitted from it by having him tell ya.

usually if i know the person and they fail i look into it for them.
