There is no longer a "20-years old and exempt" rule. There is only the 1987 and earlier exemption. If your car was manufactured in 1988 or later, it will have to be regularly e-tested tested until you finally scrap it.

Maybe you should fix what ever is making you car fail the test, so that way your car will not be a peace of ****. It max it will cost is $450 to fix it, but it can also cost less to fix it. It all depends on whats wrong with it. Fix it and be done.
