It's just a different type of turbo manifold designed to increase the exhaust flow efficiency into the turbo. It's curled like that so the pipes are almost equal length and there are no sharp bends or bottle-necks for the exhaust gases to flow through.

Turbo Header, Custom fabricated, the angles are to do more with "fitting everything in" and not so much airflow, although on a basic rule of thumb, the header does have to be unrestrictive, i.e have smooth bends.

heres an example, you can custom fabricate any design, as long as everything fits in the engine bay. You'll get the idea.
