drivers getting lazier?

is this a thing you notice in your neighbourhood or is it only around my parts? what i mean is, drivers taking up half the other lane and cutting corners. almost had my front end taken off at a stop sign 3 times today due to people cutting corners, and it seems lately people have just been getting more and more irresponsible on the road.

this is being going on for a while. When i came to canada 11 years ago people used to drive carefully , respect the roads , nowadays its horrible

some of the reasons for it ( my opinion)

Many immigrants are coming and they have different driving habits that may be ok in their country but not in here. I'm an immigrant myself but I have friends that came to Canada 2 , 3 years ago and they drive like they were driving back in their country, very careless .

Too many punk kids driving , I think they should change the age for getting a license , someone who is 17 should not be driving a car. I used to drive it when i was 17 and i was so immature and so careless

Little police enforcement , as much as I don't like cops , they only seem to worry about speeding , leaving aside U turns , beating stop lights etc etc

What I notice lately is how bad people are getting at beating yellow lights , specially when you are making a left turn at the lights . It seems like everyone is in a rush or something.

I think there is still time to prevent this bad driving from getting worst. Red light cameras can do the job ,more police enforcement, stricter rules , bigger fines, although I m guilty of bad driving at times , it is mostly due to people cutting me off without signal, or bad drivers that just pissed me off.
Although we all hate fines and stuff , most of us don't want toronto to became new york ( i can not think of a better example)

speaking about that. i hate drivers that refuse to speed up while turning left on an amber. there's a line up of cars behind them and when i'm in front i usually try to go a bit faster to maybe squeeze another car in the yellow. but it seems like i'm the only one who does that cause whenever i'm behind someone they still insist on going 5km/h through an amber when turning left

another thing that gets me is when ur in a merge lane (to get on the highway etc.) and people come flying down and stick their nose in the tiniest of spaces in front of you cause they are in a "life threatening" hurry or just born without a brain. i take my time and get in the lane early so as to avoid having to cut someone off and then i still almost get hit! i was driving my beater that day but if i was in my baby.... roadrage anyone?
on a serious note there are way to many bad drivers on the roads today and they cause troubles and stress for those of us that are out there jus trying to enjoy the vehicles we put our blood sweat and tears and especially our hard earned cash into(i dont have a "trustfund" feel me). the cops wont help cuz most of them drive just as bad or worse hidden behind some sirens and a badge. i used to be a courier so i would see all kinds of stupidity on the roads. for the most part u can chalk it all up to people being careless. dumb shyts are everywhere my friends... lookout and keep yourselves and your cars safe. thanks 4 reading this rant of a frustrated driver.

I edge up hard and fast when people cut corners, my push bar scares them into making a correct turn. I love it.

Yup it’s because the weather is getting better, but over all driving in Canada 15 years ago compared to now is worlds apart.

Many reasons.

1. The amount of immigrants, it’s mostly them who drive like s.hit here.

2. Social class areas, in richer areas you get two extreme opposites, either really really responsible good drivers, or people of the same class who drive like they own everything.

All I know is I love Maple more then I love Canada, lol but the drivers here are fkn bastards they all drive like its their daddy's land, and the kids here are *** holes too, some rich teenagers, or even 20 year old punks fk around with people in older cars thinking they are poor or something. Idiots don't know ish.lol

but like if you go to Richmond hill or Markham, its really bad there, not because people there are arrogant, its because Asians suk at driving and its very dangerous to drive there 99% of them wear thick glasses, that’s because their letters are hard on the eyes when they are kids, so alot of long reading gets many Asians glasses. But yea I don't know how they make such nice good handling cars when they suk at driving.lol jks.

But overall, driving is really bad, I mean even compared to 2002.

I don't know how many of you have read up on this, but I did some research and I came along some interesting things, that since the earth is correcting its axis among many other special anomalies that occur in its life cycle, at the same time the frequencies fluctuate, and this increase and decrease and different levels of frequencies, is what is making us unconsciously aggressive, and less tolerant, and act in different ways. At this current level we will become more aggressive and war hungry.

So now I understand why the religions tell us to forgive and be humble and practice peace, because we would need to mentally fight the effects of stronger frequencies affecting our brain, which without strong will can lead us to become uncontrollable and become more hateful and aggressive. This makes sence the more i have ignored bad drivers, the better i have adapted my driving technique and been stress and anger free, even if sometimes i want to go crazy, now i don't feel that rage i used to. funny and weired at the same time.

science + religion = truth.

That's a completely illegitimate argument.

The important street signs are mainly numbers or pictograms. You don't need much if any English skills to understand them.

Driving test examiners are available in many languages, but the roads those examiners take you on still have all the road signs in English around here. Those examiners do not interpret the signs for you - if you can't understand them, you will flunk your road test.

haha so when it's amber and all the cars have stopped you just sit at the intersection and wait for the green?

i don't think it's unreasonable to expect people to turn faster than 5km/h when it's amber (and yes it's safe to turn) so i don't end up in the intersection when it turns green for intersecting traffic

It's true. They did an investigation into driving schools and found out that a lot of instructors are passing drivers not fit for the road. As you can see for yourself when you're out there.
