btw, why the drag strip? the civic's strenghts lie in the suspension, steering, weight... certainly not in power or traction in a standing 1320. so why not go road racing instead, you'll have way more fun and it'll be way easier on the car if you know how to drive fast (nice and smooth). just something to consider.

good god no!!!!!! road racing is like mosport and shannonville. the isht you see in the granturismo games. like real racing, except usually not fender to fender.
it shouldn't be the cops that make you afraid of street racing, it should be the immense stupidity of driving through or around traffic, parked cars, pedestrians (some of them drunk/stuipid/otherwise impaired), cats and dogs, all those god damn light posts you can wrap around, curbs, manhole covers, concrete planters, various buildings... the dangers are so infinite it boggles my mind that anyone would consider the street any sort of racing venue (unless specifically designated as such, like the indy and some of the F1 races ie. monaco and now that new circuit they just added this year...)

Lol I was thinking about a gumball 3000 type race lol but that would end up as car impoundment.
Mosport is a good idea thanks, might go by there next week maybe. Thanks a bunch

you'll only break shafts if you're getting traction. Civics with over 200whp have a hard time getting traction with street tires and will just spin the tires with ease.
I had to launch at 4000rpms or lower tonight b/c if it builds boost at all (before launching), it'll just spin right through 1st like crazy. The best 60ft tonight was a 2.317 on a 205/55/15 all season, it didn't spin much in 2nd and I was basically just shifting into 4th at the trap, if I bounced off the rev limit and kept it in 3rd the highest it would go was 107mph @ 14.0. This LS tranny has crazy long gears. The best run of the night was 13.9 @ 108mph on 10psi, which I think is still crap. 108mph shows the car is fast, but I suck at driving. The times ranged from 13.9-15.2 all with trap speeds of 104-108mph. Although, this was like my 4th time racing at the track. It was dead tonight, so I got in 11 runs in 2 hours....and I didn't break anything this time.
Last time I was at the dyno it made 250whp 175ft/lbs @ 8psi with the b16 tranny. I'm now using a LS tranny, its nice to get 550+kms to a tank (35L) of gas.

darn.
Sorry Martin but if steve had his motor ported he never told me about it. I've drivin your car. With and without steve in it and it's no faster then my Z6 in my car now and true I have a better list of bolt on's and a lighter car but I also have about 500k on my motor.

Another car I tuned was there that made 175whp and he was doing 13.6....and a boosted stock single cam I tuned ran 13.1. So more power isn't exactly a good thing for the 1320. What I need is better tires (preferrably slicks) and a whole lot more time at the track, this was only my 4th time racing at the track.....i've got maybe 10-15 passes in my car under my belt so far.

thats probably the worst... unless..
your flaming wrech of a car slams into a bus full children..
that would be the worst...

there were lots of cars with wayyyy less power running better times than I was, but they were no where near 108mph. Even the cars doing high 12's were only at about 107-110mph.

You could easily see high 12's with your set-up on slicks.

I may go tonight and see what i can do
i've been really curious as to what a 50 shot will do I tryed the 75 but the clutch slipped bad
I'm running a y7 with a y8 intake manifold ebay header and a s20 tranny with lsd
also converted to obd-1 running an ls computer I really need a chip it's running mad rich
the amount of torque the 50 shot is nice
zeeman I still need a computer chipped I'll give you 2 computers if you will chip one for me....
