Dr. Honda? Quote For Some Work?

I went to Dr. H (Honda) today and the guys there were real nice and the mechanic spent about a good hour and a half with my car testing it out and putting it up on the lift to find some problems that I need to get repaired. I was so impressed and it was no charge. I've never been to a shop with such nice ppl that know so much. Just thought anyone in miss/toronto should know, its around kipling and dundas...

Also, he quoted me on new rear lower control arms (they supply) installed my suspension changed (I supply - he suggested KYB AGX or something) front and back and my front axle have the seal changed(its leaking oil from my tranny) for like $540 all installed. He also referred me to a guy who is not a ***** and do my alignment for me (my car is dropped roughly 2" 2.25" or so... ) because nobody else will touch it.

He said I needed new bushings on my control arms (where the stuts connect) cause they are shot (its like only half a bushing there) and it would cost more to change the bushings (as the screw is pretty much rusted in there) in labour than to buy new control arms. Also, my back shock is toasted so he suggested to just upgrade all my suspension since my ride is too bouncy now and adjustable would be the way to go. He told me to buy the struts myself because it would be way cheaper than through him and I found a set of KYB AGX adjustable for roughly $400 CDN so I might do that.

What do you guys think?

sounds like you feel like you;re getting a good deal. if they perform as well as you make them sound, then you should be happy.

sure beats getting the feeling that you are getting ripped off before they even touch your car

Nice of him to give your car a free lookover. If I were you I'd buy some after market rear LCAs (like OMNI or SRR)

he said aftermarket control arms are generally aluminum and the problem with that is that aluminum parts don't bend they break whereas steel has a certain memory to it and it will bend back most of the time. He said unless I am doing racing and stuff it would just be beneficial to go with oem control arms.

Those guy's changed my clutch originally when i first got my EF. They order factory Honda gasket's and don't cheap out and give you crap. Or use that gasket in a tube crap....lol. Very Professional. And since they speacialize in Honda you know your getting the proper part's and its' done right.

It is etobicoke just south of of dundas and kipling. To get to it, you have to be going north on kipling to dundas and just before you go on the overpass (crosses railroad tracks or something) before going under dundas you veer to the right just before the incline in the road. You see a white sign that says we fix imports. Thats them.

Its really called Dr. H, but its mean to be Dr. Honda.

Their phone# is (416) 233-4671. Mark was the guy that really helped me out, so you could also ask for him too.
