Does this car look okay?
I'm gonna check out this car in a couple days and just wanted some opinions.
For some reason there looks to be HUGE wheel gap and I wanted to know if it looks/is normal or is it just me. I looked at other cars and the wheel gap is no where near what it looks like on this car. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67.../1996Civic.jpg |
it would probably be better to check it out in person. its hard to judge a car by a picture.
|
even if it was on stock rims, it think it wud b a bit oddly high
|
Maybe there's no engine in it.:p
|
Maybe just the angel of the picture.
But yes as stated above, best to check out the car in person. Maybe once you get some more information on it, post it here and then people are always very willing and helpful to guide you in the right direction :) |
The car looks alright as far as that picture is able to describe. But, you really have to disect a used vehicle...check for gaps...check for accident history...check for undercarriage condition. There are a lot of tells to show you the vehicle's history.

Tires dont look very big and those steelies look like 14s or 13s
The gap would look alot bigger with 15" steelies and tires with a bigger sidewall |

13" steelies, mine looked like that stock too. Plus, ya, it looks like there is no fender lining. Never a bad idea to get a mechanic to check it over too before purchase, or a friend who knows what to look for in a car.
|
No fender lining... not good.
|
no actually if its a 96 the CX model sat that high, its not actually high, its the wheel... its smaller making the car sit higher hence making the Gap larger!
|
Yeah it's just small wheels with stock springs.....you could fix that easy...:naughty:
But seriously, look it over really well in person and bring someone with you who knows what to look for in a used car... Good luck mang:thumbup: |

Originally posted by ERTW possible front end subframe repair.. there is no reason to take the fender liner off.. unless it was SLAMMED before I know some cars when new springs are put on, they need to settle and ride higher than normal at first. Maybe this car was slammed and was put back onto stock springs just before the pic was taken....:shrugs: Just a thought. You need a h22 or k20 in there to weight the front of that thing down....heehee:D |

That has to be a 1996 CX, smaller rim and tire combo than all the other ek's. So I guess technically it is lower than any other stock ek, but looks higher because of the massive gap. |

looks ok but see it in person wuld B better.. or check the history..
|
the fender liner is clearly VISIBLE.
and the reason its high its because the 13 wheels are too small. end of story. |
Actually it is a 1996 CX but I always thought all 6th gens came with 14" but I guess not.
Appreciate all the help and yes I'll be checking it out on Monday |
