Street racing is when 2 or more cars compete to who gets to what point/destination faster.

Street racing doesn't have to be an organized thing.

What i dont consider street racing is going over the speed limit or weeving in and out of traffic. That is just careless driving.

If you are going over the speed limit on the hwy i dont consider that street racing unless there is another car or more involved to compete to who gets to a point/destination faster.

So to say that if you street race then you will be banned or whatever from the club is actually GHEY !

Cuz we ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL either street race one way or another or we go to the runs.






EXAMPLE:

If you are at a light and there is a car beside you that is looking at you and reving their engine and you do the same thing and the light turns green you BOTH peel out or whatever and get to the next light<--(destination).

Then that IS Street Racing!!!



Ohhhhhh and about the whole "WE DON'T CONDONE STREET RACING" thing...

I am talking about ALLLLLLLLL the clubs out there ......
If one chooses to street race then that is their poragative.
Just cuz they do doesnt mean that everyone in the club does.
And it doesnt mean that the CLUB actually organizes it.

if you drive eratic and put others lives into danger then your street racing. If you go do it in the mohavi desert with no one around for miles then thats fine, if you hurt yourself i dont care.

well personally in my own view which may or may not be shared by others...

I see street racing as yes requiring 2 cars to be a race ... any time your trying to get somewhere first thats a race and if it's done on the streets then thats a street race...

whether it be the next light or the county it's still a race..

now here's where my view slightly differs...

if I'm at a stoplight and the due beside me revs his engine and I do nothing (this differs from your example) and on the green he peels off to the next light and putter along laugh at the idiot, I consider him to be street racing I myselrf wasn't but he was ...

I think you are street racing any time YOUR trying to get somewhere before someone else regardless of whether they think the same way or not.

now here's where my views really differ from sunshine's ..(again IMO)

I think that while yes there are clubs that say yes "street racing is fun" and other clubs that say "we have no opinion" and still others that say "street racing is bad take it to the track", there has to be rules for a club a way of governing the cluband setting up what is acceptable behavior, why? because a club is viewed according to the actions of it's members, if one member street races then police will think all members street race (remember profiling?) and will securitize all members for the actions of one ... so to reduce this effect, TCC (for example) after having choosen to be a club and be against street racing decided to implement the race on the streets and get kicked out policy, which personally I think is a good one. (plus I personally see this club as more of a "show" club, the a race or motorsports club, not like that matters)

however.. with the banning of members off a club?? how can we (TCC) regulate that? unless someone BRAGS about it through the forums etc...

like ya.. I guess we all "street race" from time to time.. and A LOT of ppl get aftermarket stuff to make their car go "faster" .. is it for track/autocross? probably.. but also to "save face" on the street? I think so too.. I dunno.. when I was younger I would probably do that if I was in a car with my friends' now that I'm older (lol 23) I think it's stupid and pointless....

I believe street racing is when your involved in some sort of competition. ie. some punk off the line, your friends. I use to play tag/follow the leader with my buddies back then; which i'm completely guilty of i admit........again, pick a destination and whoever gets there quicker....racing nonetheless.

No worries, I'm more mature and responsible now, with better things to worry about like insurance, speeding tickets, my fellow motorists, pedestrians etc........but i'm sure everyone has done it once or twice in their life time; or have been with a whack driver...........what a rush it was tho

I'm not worried about my ability on a bike.. it's other ppl on the road.. ******** that don't give a ****.. that's the problem with bikes, but ya.. adrenaline is sick.... too bad insurance on bikes have skyrocketed

Well, if the car or cars are going faster than the stated speed limit, then it's up to the cop to deceide if you were racing or not.....then it's up to you to go to court and have the cop prove it, and then you disprove it.

Moral.....if a cop says you were, then go to court and make him prove it.
