deck, amp and sub watts questions

hi again people, sorry for the post.
so i have decided to go w/ a professional on the installation of my amp.

i was wondering though,
i have a 160watts stock deck (stock) and 290 watts jbl amp and 12' 300watts sub.

does this look and sound messed up?does it make a BIG difference?i just want some bass..but not pound really hard so do you guys think this will bother me? and if all these different watts affect one another?

That setup will give you some bass.

It will only be as loud as you set it up to be.

The wattage rating on the amp could mean peak output or nominal output ( aka - rms, aka constant output). The wattage rating on amps is how much they can put out.

The wattage rating on the sub is most likely the peak rating. 300watts is on the low side, but since your amp is most likely only 290 watts peak, it will be fine and should sound ok. The rating on subs is how much they can handle. It's a good rule of thumb to try to match the power out put of your amp with the power handling of your sub. Sounds like you've done that already.

Is that amp a mono (one channel) or 2 channel amp (is it meant to be hooked up to one or two speakers/subs)? Are you only running one sub from it?
Does this amp have a built in frequency cut out?

The wattage in your deck has nothing to do with the wattage of your amp or sub. Are you still running all your normal speakers from the deck?
