I would get the TSX over the IS300. For Canada a FWD is IMO a better choice than RWD especially if that will be the car one will drive in winter.

I agree with this also

acura is in no way nearly as prestigious as lexus is.
for god sake its got a rebadged civic in its call, it doesnt even offer any fullsize premium luxury car, etc...
acura is great cuz of reliability and puttign out great cars, BUT it doesnt have a prestigious nameplate nor will acura be as prestigious as other luxury makes until they get their act together.

I don't like the way IS's dash looks, I've seen knock off watches have a better display, than the IS 300 instrument panel .... My opinion.
The Audi might have some problems.
The Mazdaspeed is FWD and its a mazda.
The subaru is a smal car.
IMO: Get a 2002 Maxima , beat the crap out of all of those cars, and has more room. Very reliable ... that car can take abuse, trust me. If you're hurtin' for money, the Altima 3.5 is an awesome choice. Lots of power, and 5 or 6 speed tranny available. BTW: Stock Maxima ran 14.5 1/4 mile, and the Altima would be close to 14.3 with a good driver. Try that in your Mazda.

Given his choices, however, I would pick Acura over the Impreza, Mazda, and Audi. Between a TSX and IS300 I would still pick Acura only b/c it's FWD, which is better in the winter, and b/c I like the way it looks better than the IS.
Regarding your statement about Acura not making a premium full size luxury car, I only have one question, what about the RL and the TL? Please don't tell me they are mid size or not luxurious.
You have a point about Acura having a rebadged Civic in their lineup but what about the NSX? Where is Lexus' equivalent of the NSX?

TSX is a very good car. I am not a big fan of the automatic piece, but hey, if that's what you want go for it.
Keep in mind that the TSX uses premium fuel so be prepared to pay an arm and a leg at the pump. Other than that getting a TSX is a very good choice.

a tsx is basically an underpowered v6 accord.
i would rather save money and buy the accord instead.
btw acura cant stand up to lexus. the market for acura isnt even close to what lexus is overall lexus is more upper class

if you want to roll big then expect to pay bigger premiums on everything.
you cant act like you are a baller and when it comes time to pay up you cant afford it.
and what makes you think the acura tsx is any cheaper? 98 percent of the parts except for tuneup and brakes has to be obtained via acura dealership and its no difference there.

i went through your dillema not too long ago.. if you are buying a relatively new car, consider buying something through a certified preowned vehicle program at a dealership.. the initial premium in price may save you a lot of money in repairs down the road, especially on a low end luxury vehicle.
some other points to keep in mind: premium gas is expensive, and boy do these cars swallow it when you are having fun.
go and test drive them, make sure you like the dash layout, colour of the lights, interior storage space.. when you are spending a pretty coin, make sure you are happy with what you get.
at first i was very set on the is300.. after test driving a few, i was turned off by their interior.
the TSX is just a glorified honda, again, the interior wasnt appealing to me.
anyways, dont ask people to tell you what you should drive for the next few years, go to the dealership and test drive them all until the choice is clear to you.
