Some ppl are unable to accept new styling... that's how ppl end up driving 1980 Camaros and wearing mullets nowadays. Do you have a mullet?

No. I don't have a mullet, that would be gross. It doesn't look hideous and it has a great motor and stuff inside, I just think it looks kinda odd, not like a civic.

I may start a discussion later about the same thing, but I like the look and WISH they'd build a less $$ hatch.

Give us an SI hatch(equipped a la 1993) for a $1000 more than a Coupe LX and I would've jumped at it!!

Goo
I say $1000 more because I think the coupe would still sell better than a hatch of comparable model if the prices were the same.

At first when EP3 came out, I was like.... oo...***......

Now after a couple years, ya I think it is nice. It is just like when the Prelude came out, people hated (well some) the rigid look compare to the old style, now, it is everywhere.

A friend of mine at Honda says the 8th gen will come out next year, and it looks like an Accord head. I take it that it will have a rather pointy headlight and whatnot.

But I will still keep my 6th gen Hatch.

But unlike the Focus, the SiR hatchback actually works!

Personally though I'd take an EP hatch if I had the cash. Would be nice to get a car with a warranty.
Hell I'd probably take almost any car as long as it had a warranty. Well almost...

Wow.. I never compared it like that, it does!

My mom's first car was a Honda Civic (back in the 70's). She said she loved it and she went through a few other cars but went back to Honda and got a CR-V. We wanted to get rid of that in 2001, so we went looking. We test drove the Subaru Impreza Wagon, Focus ZX5 and Protege 5. For price and performance as well as looks we went with the Protege 5. I think it is one of the nicer hatch's on the market right now.

Don't get me wrong I think the current SIR is a nice, loaded car. I just think it looks high (which can be fixed) and almost awkward. Im sure I'll get used to them as I see em more, but my personal taste for cars is not the buggy and sharp headlights, and the weird lines (a la Ford Focus).

What happened to the Prelude It was a nice car! Well.. hopefully they bring back the CRX in the new lineup.

Like alot of Honda models out there, I found the look of the EP SiR to have grown on me and I think it looks good. I also wasn't too crazy about the look of the new Accord sedan when it first came out, but now it has also grown on me and I think it looks good as well.

Some cars are just not your cup of tea when you first see them, but then they grow on you over time. On the other hand, some cars just can't look good no matter what (ie. Pontiac Aztec).

So you don't think it would happen? I think it would be a really big seller in todays market. Small, light sporty hatchbacks are where its at right now.

Why would it be only in my dreams? Maybe I should ask my uncle if he knows anything. He is an engineer for Honda and Acura.

How do you figure.. have you seen how poorly the new SiR has been doing in sales? Stiff competition out there.

I'd look into a Toyota Echo hatch or a Hyundai Accent if I was looking for something small and sporty... even Daewoo Lanos. I think I could build a 200 hp screamer out of one of those ******* quite easily.

It is not the 7th gen SiR that looks weird, it is everything else.

Mr. Syphon, you are in denial.

I've had my SiR for just over a year and I've noticed a growing interest amongst ppl since then.

When the 6th gen civic first came out, I absolutely hated the rather large headlights in comparison to the 5th gens, but now I've gotten used to them and they're not so big and ugly anymore.

I am in denial. If you saw my car, you would be too (its very plain and boring). I cannot afford to do anything nice with it at all. (damn school, insurance, and all other costs these days.)

Keeping your car clean and hunting for performance parts in the classifieds is a really great way to do your ride cheaply... there are many ways to build a Honda... anything from a rustbucket that flys, to a all out trailer queen show car... choice of parts and budget is yours to figure out. Trust me... you'll feel better about your car just as soon as you wash it and detail it fully...
