ok guys don't kill me but i'm thinking of trading in the civic for a CRV cause i'm having a baby in november and i think i'm going to need the extra room. so i'm looking at a 1999 CRV. what do you guys think of this car? is there anything i should know, like why i shouldn't buy it?
any advice is much appreciated.

CR-V is a good choice...but 1999 model could be too small and under power if your are carrying 5 people with the A/C on.

If you can afford it, try lease the new CR-V...

Having a new baby and leasing? If you don't plan on doing a lot of km's on it and have an idea if you plan on buying it out at the end or returning it to get a Honda Oddessy, better rethink that one! I assume you are looking at a 99 because you want to keep cost down instead of buying a new vehichle. Leasing is good in the short term as per monthly payments, depending on the rate you get it at, but you will be stuck with another loan at buyout if you decide to keep it or left with nothing to use as a trade in if you decide to return it......

My mom had the 98 CRV and also the 02 CRV. Both are great cars. Of course, the latter has more room and all. More luxurious and power. Fuel economy nonetheless.

if i needed something along those lines its a solid purchase... and since the engine is a b series you got lots of mods available... maybe do a b16 head swap on it... could probably swing 200hp out of that

why would you lease a 99 CRV though Just outright buy it, or lease a new one...

look at the RAV4 and the Element too.

neither the rav4 or element can be made into dohc vtec monsters though...

Na...4 banger from da CR-V....K Series -- 160 horses only. I wish it has V6

Down side with the Element is...4 seaters.

Rav4 is over priced and it's old...

Can't go wrong with da New CR-V. The reason I suggested leasing a CR-V simply my friend just got one... EX-L and he's paying only 460 per month tax-in for the lease.

I did mention..."4 banger from da CR-V..."
in case you don't know...Element is building from the CR-V chassis! and it uses K24 Engine

Accord coupe

Not a fan of the CR-V one bit, ugly imo. But if you want to get one I'd go for the newer ones

Hey, if you're interested... my brother is looking to give up his lease on his 2002 Mojave Mist CR-V EX-L. He put about $8000 for a down payment and the payments work out to just under $500/month including taxes. The car is fully loaded with leather, sunroof, In-dash 6 CD changer, heated seats, power windows/mirrors/trunk/brakes/steering... you name it. The car also includes the side metal step bars and the roof rack. The yearly allowance is 24,000kms and I think he's over a bit.... due to the Mississauga to North York commute every morning. Anyways, he moved closer to work and doesn't need the car anymore and he knows it's over on kms, the front bumper needs a repaint because of a scuff.... and yeah, it's up for grabs.

My parents might also be selling their 1998 CR-V LX, black on grey cloth, mint condition in and out with under 70,000kms on it. Includes power windows, locks, brakes, trunk, steering, cruise control, roof rack, and a Viper alarm system. We'll be asking $17,000 OBO and it'll be available within th enet month or so.

So, If you're interested in either car, PM me and we can go from there.
