This has happened to all of the civics (with the Y7)in the family, and was wondering how many of you have had this replaced under warranty. Whats this kilometers on this? ive read in the manual 130 000k's but have also heard its extended to 160 000k's

I just discovered that the exhaust manifold is cracked on my 98 Si. My mechanic said that it "might" be covered by Honda because it's such a common problem. If not, I'll probably just end up buying a cheap Headmen header.

I had a 96 civic (RIP) back in March that had a cracked exhaust manifold and they fixed it under warranty.

I don't think your exhaust manifold would be covered under warranty. You have a different exhaust manifold...you have VTEC. As far as I know, only the exhaust manifold with the closed coupled cat (ie non-VTEC) is covered.

I guess it is time for headers.

i think mne was replaced but im not sure, where is the crack locvated?

right above the primary O2 sensor

go talk to the dealer they might give you a honda goodwill replacement if out of warranty, but i do believe its a recall tho
