All i ever do is jump the service connector, watch the CEL flash, count the codes and refer to the list of codes in this link or in any service manual.

I have a code that is coming on upon startup.. or shortly there after.. but once the car is warmed up if I turn it off and back on it doesn't come up.. will it work the same if I jump the service connector? it will just start flashing once the cel pops up?
