i don't think tickets are issued but police do come by sometimes, but usually not at the friday westend meets
on wednesday the police show up mainly because of the other people that show up not affiliated with TCC.

cops come and ask questions sometimes run plates if they feel energetic but for the most part we get left alone.... they haven't handed out any tickets ... and I really don't mind the running of the plates I'm not wanted for any crimes

i thought your car has to be on the road for you to get a ticket, the HTA doesn't apply in private parking lots...

there is a case in Nova Scotia where Police shut down an Autocross in a small town stating that the parking lot was covered under the HTA.... this case is still on-going but from the sections that I saw quoted the HTA applies to anywhere the public can go without trespassing... so mall parking lots and such would apply. hwoever like I said there is no precedance set yet and the case is before the courts out there...

found it..

ok in the HTA Part I section1.1 is a list of definitions

the definition of a highway:

“highway” includes a common and public highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, any part of which is intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles and includes the area between the lateral property lines thereof; (“voie publique”)
so the case in Nova scotia is whether or not the parking lot was for the public passage of vehicles...which would result in it falling under the HTA... anyways just a tidbit of info

interesting.. i wouldn't think a parking lot is as much for a passage of vehicles, but for the storage of vehicles...

good to think about tho!

yeah Alex,

but like i said nothing is set in stone till a judgement is rendered on that case... I guess if the place leands itself to vehicles moving around it counts... but only time will tell
