Civic Pricing

I'm looking into buying a newer car sometime around the summer.
I'm seriously considering getting a 96-00 hatch. I loved my 4th gen, and now I'm considering getting another Civic.
Thing is, I want a hatchback (5spd), and a 5th gen is too old for me, so a 6th gen hatch is really my only option. (Considering I can't afford a new SiR)
What I want to know, is what sort of price range should I be looking for, for different years, and different models?
I have checked on autotrader, but their prices are all over the place, so I don't really know what to expect.
Also, if you guys could give me a run down of the different models, and how they differ that be great, thanks.

Prices are really all over the place with 6th gens. I know a guy who got a mint 5spd DX for $3000. While I've seen others on Autotrader for around $6000.
Shop around you can find some really good deals sometimes.

Wow I agree for 3g's I'd put it on my CC asap! lol
But yeah, I don't want something that has been beaten up so has really high clicks. I'm not looking for it to be modded either, I'd prefer that it wasn't. Just looking for something that's reliable, and in good cond.
