Civic CRX Del Sol
#22
The del sol seems like a decent car....however I always thought it was lacking compared to the Miata, which atleast used, seems to have a simiar price and the Miata gives you RWD, larger engine (depending on year), real convertible...
althought the Del sol has its advantages being able to use civic parts, and FWD would be better fi you were going to drive it in the winter...

Hmmm...
Rear lips - nothing will fit
Side skirts -I've seen some guys rig up EK sides to fit so I'm sure you can find something.
Front lips - I've used a 99-00 EK Mugen lip and it fit fine, but the SiR/Type R style doesn't fit. I heard if you want a Type R/SiR style lip you have to go with 92-95 Civic. You can also rig up 99-00 OEM EK Sir lips to fit and 92-95 Civic Si/SE front lips as well. It's just trial and error really haha.
As for fitting, I love the feel of the Sol... I'm just about 6' tall and 195lbs and I'm comfy in my car. There's no way I can fit in a Miata cause I'm basically looking right at the top of the windshield. Trunk space is also AWESOME in a Del Sol... it's a big box and it's so easy to stuff everything in there.
So, recap... suspension & brakes - same as eg/dc, engine choices - same as eg/dc, and interior/exterior/exhaust - all different.

i'm 6' and displacing 230lbs...
The sol is very comfy with the snug stock seats. I drive to Ottawa on occasion and the ride isn't bad at all.
I was looking into buying a Miata, and was looking at the end of the windshield. The sol seats are set low so you don't get that effect.
The trunk is nice, but i had to dump the 2x10 for a single 10 because I do need some cargo space.
I drive my sol all year round. I have a set of winters set on my stock rims (14) and they work great. Highly recommended that you get winter tires

I like del sols, main reason being the targa top, that's sick.
With a nice drop, rims and a lip kit they can look great.
But they do weigh quite a bit right?
