Chicago Auto Show Webcams (New Redesigned 2006 Civic!!)

Do you think the headlights can be tinted like that? I doubt it, not in North America at least. And those brakes are HUGE, no way we'll see brembos that big. The more I look at this car, the more unrealistic it seems.
Oh ya, the wipers go the other way on this one...like a Mercedes.

I just figured out what the front reminds me of. The current jdm honda odyssey. Other then that it looks like a mini honda accord coupe, which I hate cause it looks ugly imo. Which also means I think this civic is ugly too. Yeah its sleak but who cares.
And I was so excited cause I thought it might have the 93-95 civic coupe profile.
One more thing. Whats with everybody getting excited about 18's. For one they look too big on the civic. And whenever anybody asks what size rims they should get. Most replies are "nothing bigger than 16's"
Aside from that, the power is going to be a nice addition. And interior should be good (judging by the current accords interior, even though I hate the exterior)

I agree it looks like a mini-accord coupe.
I like it.
Looks way better than some of those spy shots we saw earlier. Not a big fan of the center mounted exhaust.
The bigger picture to all this is that we have an idea now of what the 2006 civic lineup will look like.
The 2002 Si didn't do well because it was a hatch. People buy hatches because of they're smart and economical. But having a hatch as the top of your lineup in North America isn't the best idea.
Will we get it in Canada, my bet is yes.
whats with the black hood?
I like it.

I'm not hating. I just don't like the designs Honda's been coming out with lately. If I was a hater I wouldn't have owned a 1990 acord exr and now my 95 civic hatch and my future 99-00 sir

First off... the production car will have the same suspension setup as the current (7th) gen civic; it will not have the double wishbone setup everyone want it to have.
17" wheels are also highly unlikely for a production Civic, as Honda traditionally likes to give its cars skinny wheel/tire combos to reduce unsprung weight. 200hp and a 6-speed are more likely, but I doubt we'll see that until Acura releases the next-gen RSX, as Honda definitely won't allow the Civic to one-up that model.
That being said, we will definitely still get the SiR version, and I'm looking forward to it (though I'm keeping my EP, I love this car).
Rant: I love Civics of all gens, but I just don't get why people bag on the current SiR... as if it's not a "real" SiR. Good mid-torque, great handling, killer seats, steering wheel, and overall interior.... what's not to like? Okay, I'm biased, but I will grant that the EP stock isn't much to look at (though, like nearly every other Civic out there, a few body/suspension mods and it can look fantastic). I can understand people not liking it because it's a hatch (boo to all of you, hatches rawk!), but this b.s. about it not being a worthy car is ridiculous. Drive it, THEN tell me you think it sucks. Okay, I'm done ranting.

Yeah, we all know this car will not have double wishbone suspension, as much as I love it in my EG it's not the be all end all of suspensions, there are plenty of great handling cars out there on struts (the Mazda MP3 was a great example, seems to me that it beat the ITR in most handling tests out of the box...)
The 200 hp, 6 spd, LSD and 17" wheels are all a go however (for the 2006 Si) I am really excited to see and drive this car...
And don't worry about what it will do to the RSX, it's gone anyway!
I don't understand people crapping on the EP3 either... I've driven it on the street and in autocross situations (as well as RSX) and was very pleased... We all complain that Honda never sends anything good over here then we snub the most powerful Civic we ever got. Honda only sold 1200 EP3's in Canada last year, no wonder they axed it for '05. I'm sure they knew it would only get worse once this new gen got launched so early...
