Check tranny fluid b20b/gsr civic
Hey guys
does anyone know how to check the tranny fluid?
I have a b20b and lately I've been hearing a loud scratching/grinding noise from my tranny (gsr) and I also noticed that my 5th gear and third gear are popping out could this be due to fluid
I replaced my tranny fluid in like April but I had to due to a leak
Orr do I have to replace my tranny ? If so could i use an LSD for daily driving? Any performance gains or mileage gains?

To check the fluid level, take the filler bolt out, as I remember its 17mm, may be wrong. Anyways take it out and stick your finger in there [lol that's what I do]. Full is when the oil is leveled with the bottom of the hole. So if you need to fill it, poor till it starts comeing out. Let it drip out and you're set.
Now for LSD, it will be fine for street driving, actually nicer than non-lsd. Easier and more controlled around the turns. You will not get any power gains but you will hook much easier on a launch. Also gas milage will not be affected, unless you get too happy about the launches and of every light you will be speeding off. Haha.

Oh forgot to mention, the gears poping out could be caused by multiple things. Could have worn synchros, shifter fork, low mtf, shifter pivot ball could be getting stuck, pressure plate not returning. Start off with easy things, check fluid level in the clutch and transmission. Get some lythium grease and clean put it on the shifter pivot ball.
