check engine light HELP!!!

my check engine light came on today on my way home. I was wondering if there is any way to find out what is wrong. I know that in my friends REX there is a little light that blinks and you can tell what is wrong by using the trouble chart. I cant find any blinking light arround the computer in the kick panel. any help would be nice. Also I just got an oil change today if that helps at all as to what the prob may be

Can be checked like just said up above if you know how to read codes, or get a OBD II reader which you can buy or get a mechanic to read it for you...Good luck..

Few CEL could be are:

Gas cap
Crank
o2 sensor
Tranny

Main ones for EK civics...

Follow the link below. All you need is a paper clip.

About $150-$200 installed new, you need a new cat. You can find a used one for sale for around $100 and install it yourself, it's not hard to do

As far as i know these d16y7 motors have the cat built into the header. Costs around $800 to replace. Honda does warranty this if there is a crack in the header which is probably your case. If you past the warranty then you can do what i did, get a d16y8 header and buy a car seperately
