Question Certifying a car?

Hey what's up. I finally found my car! Sweet!

Anyways, I'm buying the car as is, so I have to get it emission tested and certified. The dealer wants $500 to e-test and certify, but I went with my mechanic and he said the car was really good and it's not worth it for me to pay the $500. So I was just wondering if anyone knows a place I can take it to, who won't scam me and tell me all this **** is wrong with the car.

So if anyone knows a place to go, please let me know.

Thanks!

When you bring a car to a shop or dealer, they will tell you what needs to be fixed before they can certify. Otherwise how would they come up with the dollar amount that is required to fix it?
