Which car...yet again!! (sorry!)

I enjoy these 'which car' threads, sorry.

I'm looking for a car to buy but I can't decide if I want 10 yrs old or newer.

Anyway, if I get one that's newer (it won't be any newer than 3 yrs), what about these ones?:

Honda Civic Si(R)
Toyota Celica GT/S
Acura 1.7EL
Nissan Altima/Maxima
Honda Accord

I want something with decent power but maybe a bit sporty or perhaps, luxury. I haven't decided which is more important yet.

I wonder if I'll be bored with a Civic but maybe not if I get a Si or SIR. I don't think I like the newer Si ('02 Hatch) with the rally type stick. But, a '99/'00 SIR interests me.

Would anyone care to comment on the cars listed or suggest any others? I'm thinking of getting one with manual transmission and it's not yet important whether it's 2 or 4 door.

I plan on test driving starting next week.

If I go for a car that's 10 years old, I'd probably go for an Accord or Civic Si.

sounds like you need to decide what type of car you want based on your needs (do you need to carry 4 people around comfortably, then accord, otherwise civic)....whats important to you

Yeah you do seem to have a wide range of vehicles there, some don't really compete with eachother....

Like Viper_2_4 said: decide what you really want/need then look at the vehicles that interest you in that category...

yeah, its a bit out there... if you are worried about getting bored then don't buy a family car cause they are boring... if you want luxury, stay away from civic... if you want luxury and you want performance, then this is the wrong forum... maybe you should search for some lexus forums or someething... hahaha..

honestly though... dohc vtec in a civic with some nice handling and a nice ride... you wont ever get bored of it... and when you do get bored with the power, just upgrade... that's all...

celica's are chick cars.... ever sit inside one? there is no foot room unless you are under like 5' 8" maybe... i tried and everything was so tight together even fit both feet in comfortably... thats was in a 6sp gts i checked out a while back...

nissan altima/maxima and hona accord... same class... huge *** cars and family cars... not even...

acura 1.6 and civic si... you will get bored of really fast... sooo... SIR would be your best choice... i think you should get an ek hatch and swap in a b16 if you must, but even better a b18c1... or type-r...

True....

SiR's as rare as they are, hold their resale value quite well...

As for any civic or celica; if you get a celica, NO NOT get the GT, get the GT-S, the difference from the 1zz engine to the 2zz is 126hp to 180hp. Plus the 2zz has lift like a vtec and revs like a vtec...if you get e civic, go vtec or go home... (and i don't mean SOHC vtec...it's just not the same as DOHC vtec)

IMO those cars are in totally separate classes so u need to figure out what ur looking for before you go on to picking a car... they're all very different...

figur eout what u want from a car first and then go to narrowing it down... civic and accord, celica and maxima, all very different cars...

lol ya 255 hp is nice, but u don't have anywhere to use all that power, plus filling up that gas tank must smart a bit

it really depends on what ur looking for in a car...

Maxima. Dont get the EL. Not worth the money, you have so many better options out there.

as for the SRT4 that car is very underated!
they say 215hp and 235ft/lbs thats at the crank! in actuality its pushing 240whp and 260ft/lbs stock!
