Why do we even mod our cars then? is it for other people or ourselves?! I know for me personally I did it for myself, no one else, I love what I've done to the car and how it's turned out, but Im sure there are other people who may not agree with me. I think a lot of us, including myself need to learn to keep some comments to ourselves. I'm trying to learn not to let comments about my car bother me, not everyone is going to love my red cf hood like I do, but oh well!

we do mod for ourselves but dont you throw a smile back to someone who says your car is clean and it looks good.. yes you do.. you appreciate comments like that..it might even motivate you to keep modding.. a harch comment may make you continue modding just to show those others off.. or it may just make you stop and choose a new path of modding or even a new hobby altogether.. yea ur right about keeping comments to ourselves its a human flaw thats hard to get rid of.. but as others said in this thread itself..that sir up there isnt what id do an sir and therefore i personally dont like it.. was that wrong for me to say? no it wasnt , casue im allowed to say what i want...ur right not everyone is going to like what you do to your car.. so what right but if you dont care what others think..why are u entering performance world and otehr car shows? to 'show off' to others or just dress it up nice so you any only you can look and admire you're work? i agree its what you like that makes the car yours.. but to make it generally liked by EVERYONE is the hardest thing to do.. oh and i painted my hood and trunk blue the other day to match my rims.. u should see it ..it looks DOPE!

mandie put alot of time and effort into modding her car, she deserves to show off her work!

that goes for anyone... you will have haters, you will get compliments but you dont do anyting for the haters right?

as a fellow 7th gen driver, i think mandie is doing a great job in repping the 04/05 civics, our cars dont get much love in the import scene, so i'm glad shes going out and showing off her car!!!

Mandie is not only showing her car for herself, she is doing it to promote the club. That is why they worked so hard to get it done for PW. Very few would do that for TCC !!! Good job Mandie, Marty, Davis

I don't know what scene you are talking about but if you are talking the show scene well It's no where near dead and wait till summer and tell me if the scene is dead.

That's not true, not any car can enter Darknights. Any real car show has a criteria of what the car has to look like.

and due to the size of the venue that darknights has.. there isnt much criteria about what the car has to look like

even if there isn't much criteria...i'm sure there is still some. and even if they are lax in there criteria....it still gives some of us that can't afford to mod our car to the extreme that everyone else is doing, something to look forward to!

I have had many cars in Darknights and have never been harrassed by cops. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but you can't boycott something because of the cops, That just gives them power to get rid of the car show scene.

i remember when i first started slowly getting into the scene this picture was flashed all over forums of "what not to do" and "can you believe this guy"..if this is your car man then sorry but i would have to rip on you if i ever saw it.

as for the scene thing, most people on here will claim to love modding cars and anything they can get their hands on. However majority will grow out of it. I personally dont think i ever will, because i enjoy the tear down and rebuilds (customized or just restored) its just something i like spending time on, its a hobby.

Cars still get me excited, because I like to drive. I like driving more than showing off the car - if, I have something worthy enough to show.
