I plan on keeping my car for a long time, so even if i left the scene (not to say i'm really into it lol)

the mods i am doing aren't very big...so i'd probably keep it as is...

I'm pretty much the same, my mods are modest ones at that, and if for some reason I get another car in place of the current one, I will always want to do something to it.

I have to agree with you on that!!!!

But thats only until the next Fast And Furious comes out and then it starts all over again.

I would actually have to say its going higher class now, when people are fully modding they are going all out and spending the cash and taking the time to do it right.

keep the mods clean and it will have a timeless look. the ricer phase is definitely not timeless.

it's a personal choice.

it's a lifelong hobby to some, a fad to others.

i know no matter what car i drive, it's gonna be modded to my taste, dropped like it's hot, rims that match, tried and tested performance mods.

and where am i gonna get the insight, inspiration and information? through car forums like these doggy.

i just mod to improve driving pleasure... i don't slam, but lowered accordingly to improve handling... so it actually becomes a more safer/stable ride... i like sleepers more than eye-catchers haha... i like my car clean... the only car i wouldn't mod is when i get those IS250 or TLs, that's when i go for luxury haha... and when i go for "classy", i'll get one of those euro cars hahaha....

when you go honda/toyota, its impossible to not mod.... but not overdoing it =) that's my opinion

there are different stages...people always "mod" their cars regardless of what car and how they do it...personally I'm out of modifying imports and small cars but I'm fully upto big cars and trucks

whether its fuzzy dice on the rear view or a full out race spec street car, its all modifications and everybody does it

I have always liked cars (but not that crazy to make it my life long career) and I had this little hobby of my to modify models, things like Gundam, boats/tanks and whatnot. So when I bought my car, I had this dream of one day turn it into something I like. Well, so far, a good chunk of money has been poured into this grocery getter and I am not hating it so I guess I am doing OK with this one.

and as far as the import scean dieing its because the abuse the stupid racers get from the cops so people are starting to get out of the inports aka cop magnets because they know that some people have recked it for others so is you do a mod job like my car wether its legal or not you run the risk of gettting hasaled by the cops

will see this spring and summer if its bad my car is going on to a storage unit till i am 25-26 i am now 20

I've been driving modded cars for like 7 years and never have been bothered by cops even in my younger more stupid days of hanging out the races...but then again back then there were not nearly as many accidents associated with "street racing" and then this next generation came about and started doing some very stupid things (more stupid than people before them) and caused some serious heat among the import and car tuning community and things changed and more attention was given to the activities that happened and now people are "targeted"...some things come in big waves and the import tuning scene is one of them while others stay low-key but have a devoted following (lowriders, trucks etc).

who cares if the import scene dies? I wouldnt because if its what you like then it will never die in your eyes (there are still people pumping disco) and you will do what you like and it will make you unique from others. life is full of stages and transitions and car modification is the same.

the only flashy mod i have is a lowering (not a slam job). Im 19 now and plan to own my car for maybe 2-3 more years until i finish school. The only upcoming mod on my list is a basic swap. I will never leave the "import scene" but i never plan on owning a flashy blinged/riced out car...although one day i want to do up an 80's caprice classic slammed with some big *** wheels, thats more of a dream than reality.

u have a 91 si and you're storing it? some cars ppl claim to hold a crazy value after a long itme.. th ef on the other hand will not.. so good luck on waiting..
the import scene has died..its the ricers that made the whole import scene big in the first place.. so if they dioe down it would seem as if the scnee is dying down.. the next f& f is some drift themed movie.. i believe so watch out for the hatchie roku wannabes.. that guy who says he wants to mod to improve handlingwhich in turn gives driving pleasure? BS.. if you dont corner all that fast and you drive normal then what does handling and this and that matter? honda and toyota and other car manufacturers have tested the cars according to spec.. who says what you do is going to improve it.. its just an excuse to mod in my eyes. i guess modding wil lmake your car look cooler.. but it gets to the point where if your e a early 30's dad picking up his kids from school in a 'tricked' out honda when the non-modifiers are pickin theire kids up in an SUV..who hass it better? in this situation where do you see yourself? as the loser who didnt grow up or the better guy?

I never really modified at all.....maybe in the future I will, just because I like playing around with cars, but if I did it would just be upgrading parts with OEM parts (JDM body parts, different engines, etc, different suspension parts)....

i love modifying, mainly because the tear-down and rebuilding, and building a wicked street car that you can take to the track on sundays, pound the crap outta and get to work monday.
i doubt i'll ever leave the scene.
