you have time to rescind a contract after you've signed it, you haven't answered Zyphers question.... when did you sign the contract?

and how are you planning on paying for the car???

You can definitely get out of it, but they will keep your deposit...

out of all the impulse purchases to make a car is definitely NOT one of them..

Getting an overall sense that I am screwed, and may be picking up the car to avoid headaches. It was a rushed decision, something I learned from, never again.

The car is being financed, with a 9 grand down payment. One of the reasons I took the car is that it is 0% interest. The vehicle purchase agreement was signed on Tuesday and the car was suppose to be picked up on Saturday, today is Friday.

my friend 0% interest just means that they lumped the interested into the price of the car..

lemme guess it was 0% interest OR cash back incentives right? or maybe some sort of dealer option... or they held you to a higher price cuz you were financing ...

nothing is free man, there is no such thing as 0% interest... would you take the risk of lending someone money and take no interest to get it back?? ..

i really think that picking up a car that i didn't want would cause more headaches than battling my way out of something like this... everytime you get into that car you're gonna be pissed... atleast i know I would...

If you signed it on on the 13th of Feb Legally you have until the 27th of Feb to cancel out. Dealerships will tell you must go through with it obviously because its food on the table for them. You must be persistent and find a good lawyer if need be.

I have just spoke to my sales agent, on the day that the vehicle was suppose to be delivered. I told him that there is no way I can pick up this vehicle. He says I would loose the deposit + registration fees. What would the registration fees cost?

Yeah I will go and visit the dealership and ask what are the charges going to be and try to work out a compromise. But I think the costs incurred is more for the work they did. I think they would have their money returned from the ministry of transportation for the plates and sticker. Would they not?

0% financing is absolutely real alex. the big 3 US auto sellers have been doing it for years and lately....japanese and korean manufacturer's are offering 0% rate too. its pure sweet economics driven by cut throat competition.

i know this first hand cuz i have looked at financing models of the auto industry while evaluating some propsals with toyota canada. when a manufacturer offer zero percent....they obviously are not making any money on the face of it all through interest...and as you said yourself....the margin is all built-in into the price so a deal with a zero percent will not have much room for discounting the MSRP.

financing interest, margin over invoice price, accessories, extended warranties, a lower lease-in value are the typical ways the dealer makes his dough....so my point is that if you get zero percent...you are atleast saving atleast in one area.

way to spend 9g's on nothing
not to be an *** but you rushed to put 9g's down on a car now you don't want it...
thats nuts

probably have to pay back on the liscence plate, stickers, also you need to pay for the car being detailed and cleaned as most cars are upon delivery, and any paper work fees etc

Went back to the dealership. The dealer is trying to sweeten the deal. He is offering 0% interest and 0 down. Which is quite good. I think I will take the car, and sell it of in one year, as my dad will need a vehicle. The dealer said it cost me around $1500 to back out. He also claims because its registered, and all the paper work is done, that it is extra headaches for them. Which is most likely true.

Yea it was a rushed deal, party because I needed a car fast. And yes I have posted this issue on a few forums. Thanks for all your help. The car is nice, it be real nice when lowered and a nice pair of rims. I will let you know how it goes..

of course he's trying to sweeten the deal... cuz you haven't made up your damn mind yet~!

all this and you still donno if you want it or not, he's just gonna get you to buy it by 'offering you a good deal' ...

if you want teh car take it, if not leave it... how's it going to cost you 1500?? or did you already put down 1500 @ the dealership...

he put down 9g before, but now the dealership is saying it will cost him 1500 if he cancel the deal... and now they are offering him 0$ down and 0% interest finance... so now i guess its not such a bad deal for a daily car...

its all about negotiation with the dealersihp... the sales needs his quota, needs his commission, eventually something will work out, they dont' want to have poor public relation as well... just be patient, negotiate, and talk it through =)

glad that its more in favor of your side now
