Buying used civic help?
So pretty much i'm looking to find a beater for a while but I have no idea how any of the registration works. I found a few eg's that im interested in that cost around 1.5k. I read about the bill of sale, but how does the temporary plates work? I doubt you can drive off without insurance, is there anything temporary though so I can get it emission tested and certified?

well, you need insurance to register any kind of car with the province of ontario.
temporary plates can be given to the purchaser to use for a max of 7 or 10 days (as far as i know), anything longer and you'll have to buy "hard" plates. |
oh really ? so theres no way to bring the car to my house without the other person having the car insured or towing.. that sucks.

If you are purchasing a car and don't want insurance on it right away, have it towed to your house, just don't plate it. |
