Broken into...again!

So I leave work today at 7:00pm, and walk up to my car to see the drivers window totally shattered, but being held together by the tint. There is a small hole where they used screwdriver to break it, and a larger hole where they pushed a hand through to unlock the door. The door handle is pryed away from the door, and the metal around all bent to ****. I guess they couldn't get it open this way, so they broke the window. They took about 25 cd's, my new Oakleys, and the remote for my deck. Left the deck, my cell phone, spare house keys, and my old Oakleys. They did leave my ASP, which they should have taken, cause if I find them, they're going to get beat down with it. This is the second time in less then a year. I'm pissed now. My deductable went up to $500 since last time. The parking lot is full of people, and under video surveillance, but these little ***** are still brave enough to do it. The funny thing is that I was going to call in sick today too, and even parked about 25 feet away from the emplyee entrance. Talk about ironic.

Sorry to hear that. My insurance said they will raise my deductable to $500 if I claimed my exhaust theift, so I didn't.

My car was broken into in a similliar manner while at work at Toyota last summer. Smashed drivers side glass, made a hole to unlock. Glass held together by tint. They stole my deck only.

Parking lot has security driving ariund and cameras. Saw nothing.

I hate theives!!

dumbass si...... sorry to hear about it.......

since video survillance (sp? ) is coming down each day...... think about getting a hidden camera for your car?

hide the camera somewhere that they wouldnt find it........ only hard part would be hiding the recorder ( cuz its fairly big )

you can get recorders that will record to a data stick....... but thats $

check around on the net for hidden camera type things......

hope that helps

My condolences. What makes it worse is that the insurance companys are the biggest theives themselves. And they get away with it legally.

Sorry to hear about your string of bad luck.

Are video cameras pointed in the direction where you park your car? Maybe building security would let you view the tapes.

hey the best investment to stop that is a two way pager alarm i invested in one, a vadar alarm, cost with install is $600, but well worth it as soon as someone touches my car or trys to break in the alarm gives them a warning beep, then my remote goes off, and i sleep with it right beside me, sorry to hear bout the theft but heres a good solution

I'm definitely going to be looking into some kind of an alarm. Compustar maybe. Moneys kinda tight because of my deductable being so high, but my g/f said she buy me an alarm. I work at a casino, so the video tape is considered sensative. I'll probably be given a plate #, and description of the car, but thats it. Last time, the car and the plate were both stolen according to the cops. An ASP is one of those telescopic metal batons the cops carry.

Ya. I say a camera or 2 way alarm would be a great idea.

If you work at a desk job... try buying an X10. You can watch what's happening in your car at all times with an X10... but there's limited range.

2 way alarm would be great too but limited range again.

Sucks about what happened man!

yah thats the name of the hidden camera system..... X10

they can be had for fairly cheap...

and like he said, if you work at a deskjob... park your car as close as possible, and you can watch whats happening at all times

ya, I don't get why they steal the remote for the deck... stole mine too... but I had the face with me, so they didn't take the deck... so now I got a deck and no remote "Luckily" I was hit by professionals and they were kind enough to use a slim jim. I got an alarm now, but the next investment will be a proxy sensor and a resonance sensor Money well spent!
