Bodyshops who sponsor?

Most of the shops/company have cars of their own which they build to compete/show in certain area.
For instance, if you are after a sponsorship for audio, then you need to have some serious work done.
You can also approach a company asking sponsorship in areas they are lacking of, i.e. racing. A shop might do works in audio, but maybe doesn't do racing. If you race a lot (and also wins quite often) then it is easier to get sponsorship that way because the chances of you making it big out there or being in the magazine is higher than the guy next door with the same car.
You have to make a proposal, list what area you are good at and how can you promote the company, in what way, via what method and how much money are you asking for. You could get 500 dollars from one shop and 200 from another. Then you use the money you gather, put into the area that you are good at (i.e. racing) and go out there and win a cup or two.
There is contracts to be signed, hands you need to shake, things you need to do, lots and lots of work.
A JDM "themed" car don't really shine in shows except to a few (JDM community, or guys who just like Japanese cars) and most of these JDM themed cars are shop cars themselves.
Bottom line, don't go after sponsorship for one area (i.e. paint job) from company that does it already (i.e. body shop). Get a sponsorship from a noodle manufacturer, put their name on your car, then use the money to get the paint job done. Number one thing, you (as a person) gotta be good at something first.
