New to the forums-first civic bought with a little problem
Hello everyone! I'm Joe, 18yrs old, and very new to vehicles, so I would probaly end up asking many newbie questions. I recently bought a 1994 Civic EX Coupe for 600$ with many problems with it. My old Acura RL broke down and it wasn't worth the money to fix it. but then i need a vehicle to take me to work and back. so i bought this car as a drive around, and a little project to myself. So far the Vehicle came with no hood, a d15b7 motor, a SUPER cracked windshield, with +1 Camber on the front and rear. So with the cambers like that, the tires seemed to be worned out horribly and blew out on me the first 200miles. I gotten an aligment with a new set of tires. Then a windshield replaced. there will be a before and after pictures. If i figure out how to post them. After all that I need to buy myself a hood. after that comes the engine problems. I'm getting the hood tomorrow from a junkyard. but after thats all done, I'm just having a problem with my acceleration and keeping a steady speed. When I try to take off on 1st gear, trying to keep it at a steady 10mph, it jerks really hard until i give it more gas to get it more steady. I am balancing the clutch and pedal correctly, and more I found it when im in neutral; and i rev to 1500rpm it fluctuations. the engine rpm and needle bounces from 1200 to 1500rpm when i keep it at a steady rev. sorry if this is a long story but im trying to get this figured out and i dont know much about honda motors. thank you for taking this time to read all this. yes i know its alot

read up on how to clean/replace the IAC valve and how to fix the FIT valve. First tho check your coolant level is good, and bleed the system. Air pockets in the coolant will make the IACV and FITV work wrong and search for idle. If all that's good then get a can of brake cleaner from a parts store and spray around on the intake manifold, throttle body, injectors, carefully and see if the engine bogs/stalls. If so then you have a vacuum leak and need to replace the gasket in the problem area.
