back in the civic game
well after almost a year without a civic, iv finally purchased another one......its a white 93 civic si, motor has 470,000 and the body needs a major overhaulin.......but hey cant go wrong for 800 bucks......lol, i was going to finance a brand new car but thought it out and i dont really feel like being obligated to be paying 500 a month in car payments plus with insurance ontop of that.....anyways i have a budget of 8,000 to spend on this car and since now i have a double car garage i can do most of the work myself....plans for the car include.........new white paint job done by myself, carbon fibre hood, mugen lip, clear white tails, spoon mirrors......motor wise i plan on swapping in a h22 with lsd tranny and most likely going to turbo it, yes i know h22 and turbo dont go, yada, yada i shoul go gsr turbo, but i wanna b different.....anyways ill try and get some pics of the car when it arrives on wednesday, and step by step as i go through each step.

well good luck with the project... and welcome back to the civics

if your not gonna build the h22 for boost dont do it.
get an ls, build it properly ie. sleeves, pistons, rods, bearings cams, mild port/polish. then turbo it.
boost is no joke, it only takes one fault to make a mess.
a boosted built LS will yield anywhere from 250-400 WHP with some nice tuning.
H22 is nice if your gonna call it a day after that...but trust me...nothing like the sound of a BOV..

$250 for the cheapest **** mounts ever.
What about shift linkage?
Building the harness yourself?
hoses, belts, clamps, wires?
New timing belt, water pump, clutch, new spark/wires/cap/rotor?
Broken, malfunctioning sensors?
Driveshafts to fit?
Swapping to non-PS rack, or you gonna run PS rack? Cuz that sucks ***, you'll get air in the lines and get steering play. Trust, I did that..
Good luck, you'll be looking @ $4000+ more realistically.
I did the swap myself, building the harness, customzing integra shafts, everything possible to save money and still hit 4000.

A bit off topic Cablerat, but given that pressure is supplied by a PS pump why would you get air in the PS lines?
Given that a PS system is essentially air tight minus the atmospheric resevoir I don't see how air could be introduced to the system save for cavitation of the PS pump. My technical mind enquires how this is possible, do you mind explaining further?

You have to remove the Resevoir system and the pump altogether because there is just NO room for it to fit without custom brackets. The idea is you take the in and out lines and make a closed loop on the PS rack. Overtime, your clamps can give out and air will get in.

And in general, $800 for a car with a rotted body and half a million kms is not a deal AT all.

ya h22's can be found cheap nowadays, not really much demand for them, but these guys are also right i need to add a bit more money to my list for axles and such, i wanna build this whole car myself from paint to motor
