B16a Or Zc

B16a Or Zc

Ok guysi got a 91 hatch si i got a DOHC ZC in there right nowand not enough power right now its either turbo that biatch or drop in a b16 waht do u think my best bet is??

might as well turbo it, makes sense, why would u go thru the trouble of swaping in another motor, keeping in mind that its not a straight drop in. Jus turbo that biatch

The ZC won't take a lot of boost. The rods are like tooth picks.
Just got for the B series imo.

How much are you looking to spend? My brother has a 92 Teg with a fully built B20 Vtec with a b16 tranny built by Ultimate Racing. You can buy the car and just take motor, tranny, ecu, and what ever parts may fit in the EF. He's looking for about $6500 for everything.

Boost the ZC till it blows the do a B18a1 with turbo, or if you wanna stay NA then do a B18a1 with a SiR head and a few other bolt ons.

It's a lot more then just tossing on a B16 head, you should do some mods to the block.
Last person I know who just tossed the head on blew the whole thing inside a month.

If you want to have some fun, B18C is the best choice.

B16. there dirt cheap for the power you get. And if you get a proper tranny for it it will still accelerate pretty quick and be highway liveable. B series all the way. Any combo of b-series is a better choice than a D. More potential.
All motor B's can even Beat Turbo D's. You'd have to build a D internally AND add boost just to beat a Moderatly Modified B.

man a b16 wont' be to much quicker than a zc with i/h/e....turbo it...the rods can take 200 whp with good tuning...150-170 whp all day long...that will anus pump a b16 up and down the street. You wotn' be that much faster with a b16...if you got the $$ go b18c that would be slutty in a ef....other than that go turbo zc or....viatara pistons ls rods block guard turbo setup turbo edit for tuning and with the right turbo 200-250 whp easy.


Or if you want to acutally have a fast car get a 1g awd talon:

cheapo reliable 13 sec setup

test pipe,
just muffler
MBC (15 psi)
act 2600 clutch
fuel pump rewire
race gas and 17psi
