I have and I was unimpressed. It needs about 50 more hp to be truly enjoyable. Also, I not a big convertible fan and I find them very small inside, so not for me.

Its a 10 year old design and it shows its age to many newer cars. Now that they are almost 10 years old and much more affordable, they are like the new Civic and everyone is getting one.

They are a still a very nice car, I just dont see what all the hype is about. If I really wanted a car to carve corners with, Id take a MazdaSpeed Miata anyday. Im not a huge brand-***** thats all about the Hondas. If it has 4 wheels and suites my needs, I dont care who makes it. Thats exactly why Im driving a Genesis now and my Si will probably get trading in for a new Mustang next spring.

Wow you would take a Mazdaspeed Miata over a S2K?!

What's with the subtle S2K bashing. Are you a Ford PR Rep?

On a side note would love to see your Genesis at the West end meet. Love that car

Yup, MazdaSpeed Miata has more tunability being a turbo and is about 500lbs lighter then the S2K.

Not a Ford PR rep, but Ford has done some great things with the Mustangs this year. Go drive one. You wont be disappointed. They no longer feel like a brutish muscle car. The 6 and the 8 are both very good performers that drive more like a proper sports car then an overweight piece of American iron.

Not bashing. Its a great car. But from driving experience, I just think its highly over rated. For the money if I was looking for a used fun weekend car, a Miata or a 350Z would be my choices.

Just my opinion.

The Genesis might make it out one day. The reflash is coming by July.

A lot of interesting comments. I agree s2ks are somewhat overrated, with another $5000+ I'm sure it would be a very nice ride, but why not just get an itr? Those go for about 10k in mint condition, have double wishbone suspension and I remember reading an article how it ran around slalom course faster than a Porsche. So seeing how its a well balanced car with awesome handling abilities, drop a smal turbo for quick spool and have fun at the track. Though yes its fwd but you'd be surprised how well they perform on the track. And hey you would be faster on the straight line, on the track and all that for less $.

Didn't know post counts dictated how much one knows about cars...

hmong337 actually makes a valid point which is very true.

-----------

Yes, s2k's are getting a bit dated being a now 10 year old design. But the mustang is even older... Even the new models are still based on the old lincoln LS chassis. Heck, it's even still got a live rear axle like a pickup truck! lol.

Cars like the s2k and miata were not meant for stright-line acceleration and top speed. They were made to be fun, nimble little sports cars. In autocross, I've seen bone stock miata's and s2k's run WAY faster lap times then modified mustangs of any age.

On a road course, the mustang, with it's extra power, would probably take the lead and keep it....

---------------

The point I'm trying to make is that you can't just take 2 or 3 random cars and say one is better then the others without considering all aspects. The truth is, not one car will be good at everything. Though there are some cars that are good at many things... (Lotus exige S comes to mind...)

Just a few things to think about before bashing another car....

Been doing some reading and I take back my mustang bashing. The new DOHC 5.0V8 and even the new DOHC V6 are respectfully quick. The stangs are not nearly as heavy as their competing new camaro and challenger and I'd take a stang before the others for that reason alone.

They say the new V6 with track package (tighter suspension etc...) is quicker around a road course race track then it's regular GT V8 brother... I believe it.

^ahh... sorry..lol.

To me it just came across as your were implying he didn't know what he was talking about because he had so few posts... My bad.

I'm used to seeing people get bashed because they have a low post count, but I haven't actually seen that for quite some time now...

My apologies, I missunderstood your post.

No worries Mike. I'm only a douche in real life. Never online.

I personally never heard of reliability issues with the TT. Only issue is, if there is a problem, expect to kill a paycheck.

You are right on the maintenance on G35/37/350z. My buddy cries everytime he hits the gas station because of how often he needs to refill. They are probably the worst cars on the planet for fuel efficiency.

I think the best thing for you to consider is reliability and which cars hold their value. Those being either Toyota or Honda, which after 48 months maintain 45% of their purchase price. Go with the s2000, pick up a cheap EG hatch and call it a day. Probably the only choice that will get you laid and still have money in your pocket to pay your rent/mortgage.
You clearly have no clue what your talking about. Do you drive a g or a Z? Your buddy probaly drives like a retard. My 03 Z gives about the same gas milage as my civic Si. And you would get laid 1000x fastter in a G or a Z over a eg noob.

No, I don't know what I'm talking about in the sense I have no actual experience with the car. I just listen to my two friends along with several co-workers who have the car and sigh about how often they refill. I guess if you drive this car like a grandmother it would be okay.

I just want to make a observation. Anyone who relies on a car to get laid is pathetic and has **** game. My second observation is anybody who says noob does not get laid.

G's and Z's are the best exhaust sound in my opinion. But that doesn't trump their pig-like gas efficiency and not to mention they look like ****. This of course my opinion.
