I would like to buy a vowel! j/k

When you 1st got you ZC were you hard on it, or did you "work" it in?
Did you replace anything also?

Most people I've talked to about the ZC use regular oil, but I dont think that would make a difference.

just wondering what type of oil do u use and if your still using the stock driveshafts instead of the equal length shafts. The reason i am asking is becasue my motor is starting to burn oil fast on somedays or it doesen't burn at all. I'm using castrol fully synthetic oil 10W30 and people are telling me to not use that and use regular oil b/c that's what the problem is. Anyone else using fully synthetic? my motor is a 90 from a jdm crx and supposely had 50k when i got it last year, should have about 75k now and my driveshafts are making a ticking noice when i turn right only, like the same kind of noice as in wheel in the fortune when they spin the wheel, same ****. Wondering if anyone elses does the same thing.
Thanx for the feedback if i get any
The oil burning could be cause of the synthetic.. or it could need a rebuild.. Trust me. unless you need the cluster from the car the ZC came out of.. DON'T TRUST ANY JDM ENGINE SHOP... Each and everyone will tell you that the engines have 50K on them..

As for your wheel of fortune sounds.. too bad this time you're not that lucky... Sounds like you need a new axle.

Sorry I didn't read the post completly (bit here and there) Damn A.D.D.! But there's one thing I know, there's no way anyone can buy a used motor (especially a Z.C. since it's at least 10 year's old) with only 40k on it! Yes if you know the car it came out of but I really doubt it any other way. Which leads me to the my next question. Why do you put a used motor in to beat the hell out of it without rebuilding it? I'm intending of putting a Z.C. motor in as well, but I'm rebuilding it first! If it all goes as I have researched, I should hit 13's n.a.
As for oil, stick with regular oil and change it every 3000k or sooner if you go to the track. If you haven't rebuilt the motor it get's costly if you add up a year's worth of top up's. Top up because it leak's or burn's it.

just use regular oil, stuck with it when i got my zc, the ticking you hear isn't a good sound, get that done quick, i didn't and mine snapped and i ended up almost hittin a car head on and in the ditch on the other side of the road, that was fun

Dude your comment about an automatic not being beaten as bad as a manual is not right.
Auto's can be beaten almost as bad if not worst.
Take for example a Neon(I know bad example) but most are auto's and its not uncommon to hear of engines that have blown gaskets. Bad example I know.

Um anyways you're problem with the ZC is that you weren't kind to it when u 1st bought it. Just wondering did you have a compression and leakdown test done to the engine by the shop you bought it from? If so did you watch them?

You should have had your engine rebuilt or atleast replaced all the gaskets and seals.
You have to consider this engine has been sittin in a warehouse for about a decade and you drop it in and go nuts on it.
Think of it as a new car, when you 1st buy it you have to work it in.

Sounds like you need a rebuild man
Good luck...

Didn't mean to offend man.
You said you beat on it when you 1st bought it and I said that was probably the cause of the burning oil. But it could also be the synthetic.
And auto's can be beaten almost as bad, ex. perhaps it wasn't worked in right when the car was bought new? Who knows?

And the only reason I replied to this thread was to try and help ya out. I've heard about a lot of problems with the ZC and they all have similar symptoms. i.e. burning oil.
