Attn Electricians: Homemade SHIFT LIGHT?

Hi.

I had this idea of making a homemade shift light. The design shouldn't be complicated, since this is a simple device.

All it needs is a 12V wire, Ground wire, the tach signal to go to it and some sort of a switch that would brake the circuit and light up the light at a certain rpm, using a resistor...

So any ideas?

search the net, there is schematics for them i think...

your gonna need a circuit to first figure out what RPM your at... or depending on how the Tach signal is sent, if it just increases the voltage... then find out what voltage is what RPM, then build a voltage comparitor and when that voltage is reached it switches on.
