i do mostly hwy driving to work!
and if i changed every 5000kms that only last up to 1.5 months

Based on your driving condition (i.e., HWY driving instead of frequent short trips & stop-and-go traffic), you can safely change your conventional oil every 5000km or synthetic oil every 8000+km unless your SiR is boosted or driven in "severe" conditions all the time.

Stupid honda, what do they know right?.........
Unless you have a high mileage car(which is burning oil), you should just be topping off your oil until about 10-12K. My GF's 94 hatch CX since 100K has been changed every 8-12K depending on time and now it's a 240K and no problems whatsoever. Still runs well, doesn't burn anymore than any stock spec engine should.
Some people need to get a grip on reality, realize your driving a god damn sewing machine and at STOCK specs, you don't need to be wasting OIL, time and money every 3-5K.
If you oil is getting dirty after 3K, then you got a problem regardless. IE- Burning oil/coolant. BTW, darker brown oil is ok.. It's when it's charcoal black that it should be considered "DIRTY."
I love the guys who put synthetic oil in their D15s. Every 10 oil changes is like getting new engine $$$ wise. LOL... To top it off, after a while you'll have oil leaking out of every seal because synth is so thin.

The one thing I have always wondered about Synthetic is this...
Even if Synthetic is good for over 10,000k's, your filter still gets dirty no matter what type of oil you use and it still should be changed on a regular basis correct? So with Synthetic you change the filter, but not the oil.
